Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise allows you to attract, trap, protect, train, and manage more than 100 different piñata species.

Several species may be discovered by traveling to the desert and arctic regions of Piñata Island. Once brought back to your garden, they may make themselves at home there, if you've made it habitable for them.

Each species has three different wild-card versions for you to discover, as well as its own set of tricks that it can learn.

Species that are new in Trouble in Paradise are displayed below in bold.
