Nuvola apps knotes.png To-do list for Category:Garden Piece: edit · history · watch · refresh
  • Add blurb to Grass page about how it can grow short/tall and be cut with the Shovel, or "pulled up" with the Grass Seed packet
  • Find proper place for a table listing the produced items that can be sold for currency
  • Add subcategories such as "Plant Life", "Structures", etc.
  • Remove articles' phrase about being able to buy trees (or bushes) from the General Store.
  • Fix earlier migrations that have old links to General Store and Seedos.

Eventually this category will probably get broken down into multiple subcategories such as "Plant Life", "Structures", etc.. but for now we don't really know what groupings might make sense.

Just what I was thinking really...

A couple days ago I was considering a plantlife page, but then I just deleted it(I think) and edited the garden piece page. -Spartan

Merge tree/seed pages?

We currently keep separate links for items like Apple Tree and Apple. The impression I get is that you plant a seed, grow the tree, then get the fruit. Currently the Apple and Apple seed details (usage) are on one page, and the Apple Tree on another. Is there a good reason not to consolidate all information onto the Apple Tree page? --FeralKitty 23:18, 10 November 2006 (EST)

Yeah, the seed, the fruit, and the tree should probably all be on the same page. --Jimmcq 23:43, 10 November 2006 (EST)

Bullrush and Nightshade?

Just something I noticed this evening - unless I missed them, the Bullrush and the Nightshade aren't listed in any of the plant pages in this wiki. I've got all the info provided in the game's encyclopedia on both of these plants if needed. --Malfait 06:42, 16 November 2006 (EST)

I've started pages for Bullrush and Nightshade bush, but they need the details to be filled in. Thanks! --Jimmcq 11:13, 16 November 2006 (EST)

Filled in what info I have on both, but having a little trouble with getting the base price to display correctly for Bullrush - it should be 280. I'm probably missing something obvious... --Malfait 22:49, 18 November 2006 (EST)

Nope, you're not missing anything obvious. There was a change made to the Infobox (see next paragraph), but the articles haven't been updated yet. Just add a "| value = 280 coins" line after the level line, and that will fill in the Base Value box. Thanks for all the updates! :) --FeralKitty 23:22, 18 November 2006 (EST)

Aha! Worked perfectly, thanks! --Malfait 00:23, 19 November 2006 (EST)

Discuss changes to templates

Trees, bushes, flowers, etc. are not available for purchase from the General Store, so the "Tree price," "Bush price," etc. should be removed from the Infobox (and article/"blank page" text). The trees and bushes do have a Base Value, just like species. Do we add a Base Value field to the Infobox? (If so, I propose renaming tree_price, etc. to value, to be consistent with SpeciesInfobox parameters.) --FeralKitty 15:48, 17 November 2006 (EST)

Yeah, base value would be good. It helps you know how much it adds to your overall garden value, and how much you can sell it for. --Jimmcq 16:45, 17 November 2006 (EST)

Toadstool

How do we classify the toadstool? There's a toadstool seed, and a toadstool (poisonous) (which can be tinkered into a mushroom). Do we make a new infobox/category? --FeralKitty 21:50, 17 November 2006 (EST)

Image for seed, plant, and what it produces

For example, On the Apple Tree page I think that there should be an image of the apple seed, the apple tree, and the apple, If someone edits the template for me, I can get images for the seeds and fruit. --Billiam1 19:14, 20 December 2006 (EST)

Fertilized Value

There should also be what the values of the plants are when fertilized once, twice, and three times.

Some of the plant pages do have "full catalyzed values" at the bottom. I believe the value goes 2x, 3x, 4x for flowers. With trees, the value probably declines with age proportional to the seed value. I've also been adding details for how long a plant lives before it drops it's flowers and seeds. See Bird of Paradise for an example of both. --Teker0 17:16, 12 February 2007 (EST)

Decorations?

What about decorations? They serve a use, and technically are garden pieces.
