Other information
- A tamed Macaracoon has a special "Find Romance Candy" ability that can by used by highlighting it and pressing
. This will earn an Achievement for the player. After dispatching the Macaracoon to find the candy you will be notified that it has returned (one of the pop-ups at the bottom of the screen) – you get the achievement you need to select the notification (down on the d-pad) and then “view” (). This will direct the camera to the candy and you will unlock the achievement.
- Be warned, though, watch it's happy meter carefully if it cannot find the romance candy a few times in succession. The Macaracoon seems to be the only pinata which gets depressed as easily as it does, and this includes not finding the romance sweet on command. If you own a Macaracoon, make sure you keep the garden drowned in joy/happy sweets!
- The Macaracoon can get sick very easily so make sure you look after any that you may have.
Sour version
As a sour, it steals eggs from your garden!
- If you tame it, the Macaraccoon will bring you items.

Resident requirements
Tips
- Because of its award-based resident requirement, it is possible to tame many Macaraccoons at once, eliminating the need to use Syrupents to attract new visitors, as long as you have not already earned 5 Master Romancer awards. Once you have a Sour Macaraccoon visiting, buy a Cluckles from Paper Pets and let the Sour Macaraccoon eat it. While it is still walking around the garden, save and quit that garden and open another. Repeat that step for as many Macaraccoons as you want to tame at once, one in each garden. When you earn your 5th Master Romancer award, the Macaraccoon will become tame, at which time you can switch to your next garden, where that one will immediately become tame, and so on. Now you can ship the Macaraccoons to yourself and put them all in the same garden!
