- For answers to commonly asked twins questions, see below.
Each piñata has a value. If you check the Value tab on the information window, you can see an in depth overview of the piñata's value in several sub-categories. They are as follows:
Accessories value
This is increased by fitting the piñata with accessories, bought from the Paper Pets store. The higher the quantity and quality of accessories worn, the higher this value.
Age value
This value increases very, very slowly over time. However, this is the only value which does constantly and reliably increases, so if you are aiming for a high value piñata, keep the same one throughout to get the most out of this category.
Overjoyed value
The piñata gets a boost in value when overjoyed. So, if selling a high value piñata, or attempting to get into the leader boards, it may be worth forcing an overjoy.
Sweets value
Not much is known about this category. It has been speculated that it would increase when consuming candy, particularly Life Candy, but it is currently bugged.
Twin value
There is a very small chance that any egg could bear twins. When twins are born no announcement is made, but each of the piñata born will have some added Twin Value.
Base value
Each piñata has a base value. Rarer and higher level piñata have higher base values. Base values can be increased by sending the piñata to parties via Piñata Central.
Each piñata has a value. If you check the Value tab on the information window, you can see an in depth overview of the pinata's value in several sub-categories. The pinata's total value is calculated based on these sub-categories and a few extra variables, explained below.
Base value
The base value of a pinata is related to its level - the higher level the pinata, the higher its base value. Wildcard pinatas have an original base value ten times higher than a standard pinata of the same species.
A piñata's base value can only be increased by sending it to a party. Sending a pinata to a party will increase its base value by 20%.
Example: if the original base value of a pinata is 1000, every party the pinata attends will increase its base value by 200.
Twin value
If a pinata was hatched as a twin, it will have a twin value. The twin value of a pinata is always 50% (half) of the base value. If the base value of the pinata increases, the twin value will grow as well.
Max candiosity value
If a pinata has max candiosity, it will have a max candiosity value. The max candiosity value of a pinata is always 10% of the base value and twin value (if any) added together.
Example: if a twin pinata with a base value of 1000 has max candiosity, its max candiosity value would be 10% of 1500, or 150 chocolate coins.
Trick value
If a pinata has learned one or more tricks, it will have a trick value. Teaching a pinata one trick will give it a trick bonus of 50%. Teaching a pinata two tricks will give it a trick bonus of 100%. This bonus is calculated based on the base value, twin value (if any), and max candiosity value (if any), all added together.
Example: if the pinata above learned both its tricks, it would be worth 3300 chocolate coins - 1000 base value, plus 500 twin value, plus 150 max candiosity value, plus 1650 trick value.
Candy value
If a pinata has eaten any candy, it will be displayed here. Each piece of pinata candy this pinata has eaten will increase its candy value by 30 coins. This bonus only applies to candy from other broken pinatas - romance, happy, and joy candies do not increase a pinata's candy value.
Age value
The age value of a pinata starts at 0 and very slowly goes up the longer the pinata has lived in your garden. This value only increases while you are actively playing in the garden your pinata lives in.
Accessories value
This is increased by fitting the piñata with accessories, bought from the Paper Pets store. The higher the quantity and quality of accessories worn, the higher this value.
Hidden bonuses
You may notice that even after adding up all of the values listed above, your pinata's total value is still higher. Various other factors not listed on the Value tab can increase the total value of your pinata.
- Pinatas wearing a costume of accessories will receive an additional costume bonus, on top of the regular value of the accessories they are wearing. This value is not listed on the Value tab, but you can see it on the Accessories tab.
- Pinatas that have hatched from an egg receive a hidden 5% value bonus. This bonus applies to the base, twin, max candiosity, and trick value of the pinata (that is, the total value before adding age, candy, or accessories). Pinatas made resident through resident requirements or bought from Gretchen Fetchem do not receive this bonus.
- Sending a pinata to a race or talent show can sometimes increase its value. This does not increase the base value of the pinata, but instead is a hidden bonus in the total value of the pinata.

Yes. Infrequently, an egg will hatch and produce two (twin) pinatas instead of one. View thread
Due to a bug in the game, you can only ever get Whirlm twins.
Do they look like wild-cards? How can you tell if pinatas are twins?
No. A twin looks exactly like any other pinata of that species (but sells for more than a non-twin). To confirm if a pinata is a twin, select it, press for Information, and examine the Values page. If there is a non-zero value for Twin value field, then it is a twin. View thread
Do you get a pop-up message about twins when they hatch?
No. If you're mass-romancing pinata, just keep an eye on the Sell price, when selling them. Twins sell for a 50% higher price. View thread
What's so special about twins?
Well, they're fairly uncommon, so if you happen to have romanced have a pair of twins, you're fortunate :) View thread
Has anyone gotten twin Wild-cards?
Not yet. They're even more rare than getting a normal Wild-card. View thread
Due to a bug in the game, you can only ever get Whirlm twins.
Is there anything that increases the chance of getting twins?
No. Unlike wild-cards, romancing with twin parents won't increase the chances of getting twin offspring. View thread
What are the odds of getting twins?
No one knows the odds, especially since it's not obvious when a twin has been born, and some probably have been unknowingly sold. View thread
