Hey, Feral if you don't mind my asking, when do you plan to set up that "to do" list?  I wanted to see what you were planing to get done and maybe add to it myself.  I don't want to start it myself though because it is your idea, so it should be your format and your terms.

Looked into it this morning.  I sent an email off to Jim to get his feedback on how best to implement it.  Once I hear back from him, I'll set something up.  --[[User:FeralKitty|FeralKitty]] 05:27, 23 October 2006 (EDT)

: YesAs the [[wildcard]] article mentions, gamers can hatch the first trait, and one of the two remaining traitsSo, if you can hatch trait 1 and trait 3 for a species, but (also) want trait 2, find someone who can hatch (trait 1 and) trait 2 of that speciesSince they can't hatch trait 3, it makes sense to trade your trait 3s for their trait 2s, and you both will have all 3 traits.  --[[User:FeralKitty|FeralKitty]] ([[User_talk:FeralKitty|talk]]) 17:58, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
=== Update ===

Jim and I corresponded, and we've decided on how we're going to set this up.  It requires some wiki extensions to be installed, <del>which might take a week or so</del> have been installed.  In the meantime, since I have some free time today, I'm going to "jump ahead" a few steps, and start populating some of the ''to do'' lists.  These will become 'special' pages, managed directly by the template, so please ''don't'' try to talk directly about them on their Talk:to do pagesHere's a list of what's being done:

*<del>Install support extensions</del>

*<del>Install and configure todo template</del>

**<del>Install</del> Rewrite documentation

*<del>Add ''to do'' lists of items to do</del>

Once the template and documentation is set up, things will become a lot more clear.  In the meantime, if you have any specific questions or comments, you're welcome to add them here.  --[[User:FeralKitty|FeralKitty]] 08:37, 25 October 2006 (EDT)

== Installed ==

The template and (very wordy reference) [[To-do list|documentation]] have been installed.  I want to completely rewrite the documentation to simplify it.  In the meantime, the To-do list functionality is up and running, and you can visit [[:Category:To do]] to see a list of articles that have specific work that needs to be done.

If you start work on something that will take some time, please add "In progress <nowiki>~~~</nowiki>" at the end of the item so others know that you're working on itOnce a task is complete, you can strike a line through the task by surrounding it with <nowiki><del>...</del></nowiki>.  --[[User:FeralKitty|FeralKitty]] 13:40, 25 October 2006 (EDT)

NP!  Look at the bright side!  We don't have to write a ton of (species) bios by hand. :)  --[[User:FeralKitty|FeralKitty]] 04:13, 18 November 2006 (EST)

I kind of like writing them by hand, but it saves time and is more offical.

So the Wildcards differ from Gamertag to Gamertag? --The40yearoldHorstachio-5956 16:46, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Yes. As the wildcard article mentions, gamers can hatch the first trait, and one of the two remaining traits. So, if you can hatch trait 1 and trait 3 for a species, but (also) want trait 2, find someone who can hatch (trait 1 and) trait 2 of that species. Since they can't hatch trait 3, it makes sense to trade your trait 3s for their trait 2s, and you both will have all 3 traits. --FeralKitty (talk) 17:58, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
