Hey maybe we shouldn't make a page for each language seeing how in the Germany game show they said it would be made into quite a few languages or we should just put this in another page. Unless you plan on adding info to each language's page. -Spartan

yeah, I think a page should be titled "Language Names" with the name in the languages availible.

-Moozipan

I like the concept of separate pages for each language, since as we find language-specific VP sites or other information about that country's version, we can document it on each specific page. --FeralKitty 21:42, 13 September 2006 (EDT)

If you guy want do go through the trouble of getting on sites in different languages and downloading translators fine, but I'm not gonna bother with it. I speak English, am learning spanish, and a little stupid from living with my little brothers. -Spartan

Anyway lets see what Jim says, but I think the games are gonna be identical just with texts and languages in, well different langages. -Spartan

Well, I obviously want it to exist, or else I wouldn't have created it.  :) and yes I was assuming that the page could eventually get filled in with information specific to the Japanese version such as release dates, links to japanese language sites, etc. For now I just wanted to get the page created so that the search engines will pick it up. This site does get visitors from Japan and all over the world. --Jimmcq 23:04, 13 September 2006 (EDT)

Should we have a page named あつまれ!ピニャータ that either redirects to this, or this to that one? --FeralKitty 23:59, 13 September 2006 (EDT)

If those are the correct unicode charaters, then yes. All I see are the symbols: ????!????? --Jimmcq 00:26, 14 September 2006 (EDT)

Hmm... *thinks* Maybe it's because I have a language pack installed or something? Do you see any Japanese, when you visit the Japanese Xbox.com VP link? --FeralKitty 05:51, 14 September 2006 (EDT)

No, I don't see any japanese characters in this browser... try setting it up as a redirect. Thanks. --Jimmcq 10:25, 14 September 2006 (EDT)

After installing the Japanese Language Pack the characters show up fine for me now. --Jimmcq 14:28, 14 September 2006 (EDT)

Go ahead and make different pages for langages... but I think th only diffence is name and release date. So unless you want do translate info onto these pages(which might be a good idea) I still think these should be condensed. (that's what I THINK not what we should do) -Spartan

While the only difference is name and release date, the point is that separate pages makes the wiki more visible when someone is searching for game info in their language. A search string in the page title produces a higher ranking in search engine results, than a single mention among a page full of other names. (It might help to have あつまれ!ピニャータ be the actual page title, since that's what someone would search on. What do you think about switching it around the other way?) --FeralKitty 19:45, 14 September 2006 (EDT)

The way it is now should be fine... it is in a URL and in text on the page. So yes, some of the 'strange' things you see me doing with pages (and especially redirects) are just to help search engines find the site, but that's how we get the site to grow. Now don't everybody go overboard on redirects :) --Jimmcq 19:57, 14 September 2006 (EDT)
