Flutterscotches do not as evolves in game.  That's the point that I was trying to make... it seems like an evolution, but it is really more like a variant.  There are eight evolved species and you must evolve those eight to get Master Evolver award (regardless of whether or not even seen a Flutterscotch).  --[[User:Jimmcq|Jimmcq]] 21:56, 22 February 2007 (EST)

I did the experiment.  I created a new gamertag, mailed it a bunch of plants and white flutterscotches, and started the evolving.  Leafos told me I had created a new species.  I did all nine White Flutterscotch evolves, just to see if "totally evolving" the flutterscotches might count.  I then evolved a Sparrowmint.  No achievement.  Which simply confirms what you have been saying.  I think the White Flutterscotch page now makes this all explicitly clear. --[[User:Celestial nav|celestial nav]] 13:10, 24 February 2007 (EST)

I setup a new (local) profile to start the game from scratch with no achievements unlocked. I created a Red and a Blue Flutterscotch. The "Evolved 2 species" achievement did not unlock until I evolved both a Sparrowmint and a Taffly, showing that the Red and Blue Flutterscotches didn't count at all. --FeralKitty 10:58, 22 February 2007 (EST)

Interesting. Thanks for telling me about your experiment. I am going to build on your work. I will try to see if doing ALL the White Flutterscotch evolves counts as one evolve. First, I evolved a sparrowmint. Now, I will email all the necessary seeds to the new account so I can do all the evolves immediately. OMG -- I hope I can recover a gamertag to an existing local profile without losing the garden, or I will have to start from scratch again! --celestial nav 20:26, 22 February 2007 (EST)
