Cryptids are pinata species known from evidence insufficient to prove their existence with certainty, as in the case of the Jeli that is mentioned in the Viva Pinata episode guide for 2007, but has not been seen in-game.

It is unknown whether these species may exist in the form of a future Downloadable Content for the game. Should the existance of a species be confirmed in the game, it should be re-categorized appropriately.

Some Cryptids are not listed below because there is not enough information on them yet. They include:

• A Giraffe (Giraffe legs is seen in the Legs episode)
• A Kangaroo that was cut from the game (can be seen in the video at http://www.eurogamer.net/tv_video.php?playlist_id=1470&s=l)

• A Seagull called a Breegull (mentioned in game)
• A Shark called a Snacker (mentioned in description of Shark Tooth Necklace episode and also in game)

NOTE: A Breegull is the species of bird Iazooie is who is one of the two main characters in Banjo-Kazooie so it is very highly unlikely to be downloadable and Snacker is the name of the shark that appears and tries to eat you in treasure trove cove in Banjo-Kazooie. They are both most likely references to another Rare game, Banjo-Kazooie.
