It is important to help keep yourself safe on the Internet:

• Never reveal identifying information about yourself (e.g. age, grade, address, school name, telephone number, links to photos) either in public posts, or in private messages (PMs).
  
• Don't click on links in PMs from people you don't know. They could lead to harmful material or otherwise inappropriate web sites, or could be a computer virus.
  
• Don't respond to messages that are suggestive, indecent, or make you feel uncomfortable. Tell your parent if you encounter such messages, and report it to the site Admin.
  
• Remember that people online may not be who they seem (for example someone indicating that "she" is a "13-year-old girl" could in reality be a 40-year-old man).
  
• Don't meet someone in real life, that you've first "met" online, without a parent or guardian accompanying you; and only in a public place.
  
• Be a good online citizen and not do anything that hurts other people or is against the law.
