Bad News: No VP cake decor untill Q2, 2008

oooo the plot thickens. I called DecoPac, the people supposedly making cake toppers of VP....

No one at the company that is by the phones today has HEARD of VP let alone know when the toppers come out. They will call me back and I will inform you guys of what i hear from them.

"Dave,

It sounds like this product will not be available until, at least, February 1st, 2008. I know it has something to do with the licensing issues as to why we are not able to put ”Viva Piñata” products on the market until this time.

Wow, I'm lucky my birthday is in July so by then all of the manufactuors will have resolved any problems they may be having with any of their products

(If not in the fall then around christmas or february they'll probably have everything out in stores)

The year is divided like this.

Q1:
Jan, Feb, Mar

Q2:
Apr, May, Jun

Q3:
Jul, Aug, Sep

Q4:
Oct, Nov, Dec.

So your birthday is in the middle of Q1, subsequently, there will be no obscure pinata shaped cake toppers for you this bday.

Although, as if to confuse people, some companies like to label things by fiscal year, and start their fiscal year at some time of year other than January (and not consistent with the fiscal years of other companies). Microsoft's fiscal year starts in July, so right now it's FY08 Q1 as far as Microsoft is concerned.

And there's also financial year, which can take even longer than normal.

Although, there's always the possibility that fiscal is the USA/equivalent of financial...

Google explanation didnt really help much. What exactly is a fiscal year? Is that when they start counting there money or something for the year

I believe that "fiscal" and "financial" year is the same thing - it's just a 1-year period that businesses use for taxes, reporting income, and financial bookkeeping (and sometimes other things, like planning).
