Create-a-Rare-Developer-as-a-Piñata Competition

We are very pleased to announce the inaugural officially unofficial "Create-a-Rare-Developer-as-a-Piñata Competition". It’s been a while in coming but we’re now prepared to roll it out; rumored to be devised within Rare’s own fair towers as another excuse for BIGsheep to use his Magic Wand of Piñata Conjuring™, we offer you the chance to win a selection of in-game prizes in exchange for some creative effort.

Here’s how it goes:

1. Choose a name of someone on the credits of the Viva Piñata Xbox 360 game.

2. Decide what piñata that person might be and create them.

3. Entries should be posted into this thread preferably as an image but a link to it will also be acceptable. You can enter as often as you'd like, but you can only win once.

4. All entries must be posted by Cinco De Mayo (May 5th) at 11:59pm Pacific timezone.

Simple, eh?

The piñata can be a species that you have already seen or one that has never been documented before. Entries can be drawn, modeled, sculpted, photoshopped, made from a well-known brand of Scandinavian building block, or can even be actual paper-maché piñatas. Whatever you decide upon, you are also encouraged to include extra details about your creation: what requirements do they have? Do they behave in a certain way? Go wild! Uniqueness and creativity are strongly encouraged.

The best creation, according to our panel of esteemed piñata experts, will have the choice of receiving either a wild-card piñata of their choice* or the Mystery Crate; rumoured to be very special indeed and so unique it has capitals. Plus, possibly some extra goodies I may have acquired.

A further three winners, in as yet undetermined categories (best blue vegetarian over 5ft in height, anyone?), will also receive a wildcard piñata of their choice** and any remaining paraphernalia.

All that now remains is for you to point us in the direction of Flickr and Photobucket as locations for all your photo-sharing needs.

Well, then, what are you waiting for?

sorry for this being my first post but I saw this on another forum and thought it would be fun

My pinata is based on Adam Kitching

I don't have photoshop or anything like that so i used good old fashion paint

Ok heres my drawing of it, I finally completed it after I felt like me LEGO one didn't capture the pinata very well. Well without further ado:



Pinata Name: Goatmeal

Attack: shoots cylindrical packages of Quaker Oats
House: Giant chewed up can with garbage scattered at bottom
Requirements:

• Appear: Have 20 pinometers of long grass in the garden
• Visit: Have any piece of garden junk in the garden
• Resident: Has eaten 2 pieces of any rotting fruit, and have 3 pieces of garden junk in your garden
• Romance: Has eaten 2 rotten apples, 2 rotten bananas, have 3 pieces of garden junk in your garden, and have a Goatmeal house in the garden.

Conflicts: Zumbug, Horstachio
Characteristics/Personality: Smelly, strange, old, etc.
Variants:

1. Feeding it a bluebell flowerhead turns it blue with dark blue horns
2. Feeding it a sunflower turns it yellow with orange horns
3. Feeding it a gooseberry Fool turns it green with dark green horns

Ok I made it out of LEGO's which is very hard. All the pieces are square or rectangular except the toe pieces I found, plus you can't really make a face or any details. I hope the creativity can out way its mediocrity. also I had a a better one but my Dad decided yesterday to clean my little brothers room (which is where the LEGO's are and where I made it) and destroyed it. So I had to rebuild it again to the best of my ability. Then the pictures didn't come out so good so I took them again and they are still blurry. I picked out the least blurry one so I hope you like it (and please ignore the wrong color, I couldn't find brown lego's anywhere)

My Reasonings:
Well, the credits in my little booklet thing says that Andy Burt is in the art department. Thus, I incorperated art into my pinata. The house is entirely art themed with the addition of a rare only sign. The attack is paint brushes. It ties into art constantly. The name "Donkandy" has my Rare Developer's first name in it. Donkandy. The rest is centered around the donkey theme. Also, to tie together the art and the donkey parts, an easel is a stand painters use to hold their canvas up while they paint. Easel is also German for Donkey.

((I would like to note that all pictures shown here were made by me and would appreciate if no one used them without permission. Any contest-based uses other than them being claimed by other people are, of course, exempt from this. Thank you for considering my pinata!))

Appearance Requirements:

Goldiepops are rare piñata. They require atleast 200 sqare pinometers of water (20%), the Master Romancer award, a pair of Whirlm’s and a Cluckles.

In order to get a Goldiepop, one must romance Whirlm’s, then place the egg in shallow water, then get a Cluckles to hatch the egg.

Romance Requirements:

Unfortunately Goldiepops can not be romanced, but you can create an unlimited number of them. You can gain an Master Romance award by producing 7 different Goldiepops.

Species Conflicts: Cocoadile, Newtgat

Goldiepop’s are the natural prey for Cocoadiles and Newtgats. They attract them to the garden, and if become they become resident, will cause the Goldiepop’s to remain in an “Unhappy” state until they are removed or eaten.

Variants:

Feed a Blackberry to a Goldiepop to turn it Black
Feed a Orchid Flower to a Goldiepop to turn it White
Feed a Chili to a Goldiepop to turn it Red


My reasoning behind this pinata? I scanned the credits and the name Pollington struck me as something I would name a rolly-polly fancy goldfish (I own 5 already). Then it occured to me - there are very few aquatic animals in VP, so why not.... a goldfish!

Attack: Rotten Fruit (In real life, their attack is a venomous bite, and they get the vemon from their elbows! I couldn't think how to translate that to a pinata though!)
House: Tropical tree, with a hole high in the trunk, dense vegetation growing round the bottom providing platforms for the Laurichoom to climb up to the hole.
Larger animals/predators wouldn't be able to climb up.

Requirements-
Appear: Have 2 Galagogoo residents in garden
Visit: Have a Banana Tree, a Nightshade Tree, 2 fully fertilised Orchids, 1 other tree and 4 Newtgat in garden
Resident: Eat 8 Bananas, 8 Nightshade Berries, 2 Orchid Flower heads, 2 other pieces of fruit
Romance: Master Galagoogoo Romancer Award, eat 2 Newtgat, Overjoyed, Laurichoom House in garden

Personality: Nocturnal. Climbs trees. Moves slowly, unless threatened. Generally shy, and rarely seen during the day. Moves hand-over-hand, like a chameleon or gecko, does not jump. Sings when overjoyed.

I researched Pygmy Slow Lori on the net to get the requirements.
The Loris is a distant cousin of the galago, so I wanted to tie it in with the Galagoogoo, in some way.

A frolicing band of baby Lauriechoom.


This is a fully-grown Picard and Deana.

They are Lauriechoom of a normal colouration.
Picard, however, is a Wild Card, as you can see by the defensive horns on his elbows.

Riker, Crusher, and Worf are prime examples of the Lauriechoom variants.

Riker is also a wild card.

And, here is a picture of the whole family enjoying the garden.

That's Worf and Crusher in the tree, there!

I didn't write the program or game, though, before anyone asks, I just created the breedfile, and adopted the petz.
I might be putting the file up for download soon, but I haven't quite decided.

Hope they were worth the wait, and if not, well, I have some new petz to play with, eh!!
