Default Capturing "regular" pinatas in desert/arctic

Has anyone else noticed if you trap a "regular" pinata in one of the environments it makes them a different color variant? I noticed this when I accidentally caught a preztail but decided to keep him since I needed one anyways. He turned out to be a cute blue and white, while my other blue variant is blue and green! I haven't tried this with many others yet but I assume they are the same.

Just another awesome thing that suprised me to find!

Sounds to me like you captured a 'Snow Pretztail', which is actually different to a regular 'Pretztail', variant or not.

Oh neat! Well, he was ok romancing with my other preztails, so thats good! Didn't produce any WCs at least not yet... I packed him away since Pester has been on the prowl!

Just a note to update: Yup! I also captured the bunnies and they were different looking too! I also did a genetic experiment with the snow preztails:
(SPOILERS?)
-if a snow preztail and a regular preztail (did not matter if they were a color variant or not) would romance they would make an orange preztail.
-if two snow preztails would romance they would usually make a snow preztail, although the coccoon would be orange. I think about 50% were snow.
-if a snow preztail gets a color variant its different than the regular preztail. For example: I had one eat the gooseberry sundae deal and he turned GLOW IN THE DARK colors! It was awesome!

Thanks Rare for making this kinda stuff! I hope I find more crazy buisness!

Sounds interesting. Any other 'regular' pinatas you can catch in the desert/arctic?

As far as I can tell, just the preztail and bunnycomb. I haven't tried any of the desert ones (I know theres an ant and runs around in there) but they might be the same.

Since theres a Snow Fox (Pretztail) and a Snow Hare (Bunnycomb), there might be a Snow Wolf (Mallowolf.)

Hmm there might be- if there is that would be sweet! I haven't seen him show up since I haven't tamed the sour version yet-- but I did notice in the desert the hyena started showing up once I got one, so there might be more to come!

I can't wait to get started. *rubs hands together.*

...If only my bro didn't take it to his friend's house. ><

The only "regular" pinata I've noticed so far in the desert has been a desert syrupent. Haven't attempted to capture it since I already had some, but maybe I should now. Nice find!
