Default Post your questions about Viva Pinata for Nintendo DS

Viva Piņata on Nintendo DS was officially announced at the 2007 Comic-Con in San Diego on July 29, 2007.

The game will feature all of the species from the Xbox 360 title but also a few new ones, an expanded selection of tools, new game modes such as Sandbox and Episodes, and the ability to send pinatas via the DS WiFi service.

Post any questions you may have about it here.

A couple of questions I can think of...

Q: Is it the same as the Xbox 360 game?
A: Game play wise, yes. It's the same game, starting with ruined garden, attracting Pinata, growing flowers and trees, buying things from shops. Like VP:PC it takes advantage of the hardware available, so you interact using the stylus.

Q: How are the graphics compared the Xbox 360 version?
A: Beautiful. You will not be disappointed.

Q: When is it coming out?
A: "Coming soon" is the only info we have at present.

Q: Is Rare developing this?
A: Very definately 'yes' on this one. We have a dedicated handheld dev team.

Q: Has the original VP team been involved?
A: Yes. From original assets from the game through to design and on-going feedback.

Q: Where can I find out more?
A: There'll be more info appearing on www.rareware.com some time soon. I'll try to remember to update that link when it does.

For my question I'd like to know if it makes use of the Wi-Fi Connection.

I don't know, I'll pass this on and try to get an answer.

Thats what I would also like to know.
I've been resently re-addicted to Animal Crossing: Wild World due to our recent WiFi upgrade. I'm not a fan of Nintendo's 'Friend Codes', but it's better then nothing.

Mabey, just mabey one of the new versions of VP will include a Visiting feature?? Mabey not..

I won't get my hopes up. I want VP for the DS regrdless.

Another question. Obiously the DS can't handle the full game that we see on the Xbox 360. Will it be a smaller version of the 360 game. Or will it be a new game useing the same basic principals, but with differant pinatas, and plants??

It's basically the same game, same principles as the 360 version except it has to take into account the hardware i.e. you haven't got the graphics power of the 360, but you have got the touch screen to do cool things with. I'm not sure if we can say at the moment which pinatas and plants will be in the game.

The DS team have done and amazing job at getting most of the features from the original into the DS version.

I MUST ask : are the bugs and glitches found in the XBOX version fixed on the DS version? On btw, BEG the dev team to actually fix the xbox version.

Is the touch screen being used in a Nintendogs style fashion, as in being able to care for your pets/pinatas using it?

Default Will the Trading System be Remade?

I know I'm getting a little ahead of myself, but I just wanted to see what you guy's opinions are about Viva Pinata DS in general, but mainly if you think the trading system will be reconstructed for Wi-Fi on the DS of course there'd be complications what with all the numbers and codes, plus the lack of Friends Lists. I guess we can also exchange DS Wi-Fi codes in themean time too, for games like Mario Kart ect.

I apologize if this belongs in the Video Game section...I wasn't sure.

Any chance on using the Nintendo WFC to integrate XBOX Live Anywhere? Will there be achievements?
