Growing Up

Yeah. So lately I've started to realize how old I'm getting. Not age-wise, but just... I guess maturer, persay, more into an adult. I've been on this site since I was 12 years old and I am currently 17.
Lots of things have been happening; close to becoming a senior, might get a job, a boyfriend, and more responsibilities. Its sort of a bitter-sweet kind of feeling.
But I'm glad I have been here for now longer than 5 years cause this forum is honestly one of the best I've known. And now I'm growing up and I'm glad I met the people I met on here and the real world.

For me, though, it's not so great growing up when you're going to put the past behind you. As I grow up, everything else changes: my little sister thinks she is old enough to understand life and looks over the times I have been mean to her when she sees me and keeps quiet with me. She doesn't talk to me as much as she does with our brother Erik and doesn't play or watch things with me anymore. She hates me now. So do my stepmom and dad. Erik is the only one who understands me, though. If I cry, Erik would come into the room and tell me what's wrong while Janice is sitting in the living room ignoring me with the words "shut up" being written on her face. Oh, but it's different for adults like our mom or dad. It's sad...

I think growing up is a way of understanding that people don't want you around anymore because of what happened in the past and nothing is going to make up for it. It also means that life will get harder as it goes on. I am thinking about the negatives of this, so you can critique over what I said or you can just go on and share your own comments.

Growing up IS hard. It is probably one of the hardest things I ever did. I'm going to be 36 in a few days (even though my granddaughter says I am NOT allowed to reverse the digits in my age) and there is no age I've ever liked better than the one I am. Even now <blush> that I'm almost 63.
