I think the idea is to get the opinion of the female gamer, since most of these awards tend to be based on a mosty male viewpoint.

That's not cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a girl... but... seriously... does anybody (not living in that time probably) ever learned about the time when girls couldn't do anything? Well, even though it is only for girls... can't guys take it? I betcha that a lot of guys have already voted on it... not me... I ain't a guy! Either way, if I did vote I'd be lieing about my age...

Oh, yeah, doubtless, many guys have voted...and I am in no way saying that girls don't game, or vote in polls, etc...Just that the 'gaming world' is (in)famous for being extremely male-oriented in it's choices.
We girls are put into a box, justified or not, which says that we only play 'girly' games.
Just not true...I only play games that I can get past the first level on!

Actually, if more guys play girly games than girls, that just proves that guys are the dominant target for the video game industry :-)

I HATE people who say games are'nt for girls and besides all the other Viva Pinata owners I know are boys anyway ( I'm so alone, I know no other girl gamers :( )

This insults me. :( Female gamers need to realize that there is no need to make "female only" things, just to prove how they are equal. They already proved that during the woman's rights movements. Isn't that just as bad as having "Men only" things?

The poll wasn't made by female gamers into exclusivity...

It was made by the Gameinatrix to aquire a female perspective. In an environment which is undeniably male-oriented, it's difficult for the more feminine voice to be heard.

Indeed I was. This game out at roughly the same time as Gates' comment so I was attempting topical humour.

I've got nothing against anyone playing games. As long as they enjoy what they're playing and they play it because they enjoy it and not because they feel they should enjoy it then the world is a better place.

Ok I'll chill, sorry, Its my reaction to my friend who constantly talks about me being rubbish at games, even though I can totally thrash him on multiplayer. I did'nt mean any offence, sorry Bigsheep and Jazziefox.

I voted, but only becasue I wanted to see what games they had listed more than anything else. Although a female gamer myself, I tend to lean toward the "overly male" sterotypical games - car racing, horror games and the such not. I enjoy nothing more than a good evening of sitting inthe dark and playing Fatal Frame or Silent Hill. I'm "trying" to get good at FEAR, but ... I am seriously lacking at it. Now Condemed I'm getting the hang of... :)

I was the one who bought Viva Pinata when LRB was playing Gears of War. I thought I wouldn't get a chance on the 360 to play Viva Pinata, because LRB would be hooked on GoW. As it turns out, I DIDN'T get to use the 360 very often, but not because of GoW - LRB was playing MY game, Viva Pinata. LRB plays more of my "girly" games than I do!

P.S. Boom Boom Rocket - very addictive and strongly recommended!
