Just wondering, would it be possible to keep a garden, or small, quarantined, fenced, far-away place to keep sours in? Like, say a sour or two, or three walk into the garden, and you quickly build fences around them. Of course after that you could plant food around that fence, build a fence around it the food and fence holding the sour, and finally destroy the fance preventing the sour from reaching the food? (Hope that wasn't too confusing).
What do you guys think?

It surely would be an interestong idea for a garden, I 've always wanted sours as residents ( the sour versions, not their tamed versions ) - the negativity of course. The only problem I could foresee would be getting enough fence.

try fencing a sour using a small square the you trap it then bulid a fence around the whole garden :D

That's an interesting concept you have there Moozipan, I'm not sure if that would work or not.
This is the closest Ive had to a Sour Garden. It's called 'Sour Patch' I just turned off all the Tower of Sour pieces and let them roam.

I'm doubting that'd work, Mozzipan (no offence!). I simply predict that Rare would put something in that wouldn't allow that to happen.

And just why not? I don't see any problem with having a sour garden.

Hmm, interesting garden, nice screenshots!
Is the (on-or-off) state of the totems maintained on a per-garden basis, or do you have to remember to turn them back on, when moving to a non-sour garden?

Interesting.. I built two sour gardens. 1 named "Sour Patch" that is identical in concept to yours :o . The other is called "Sour Retirement Villa", which is where I put all the tamed sours. Every so often I'll tame one or two in the first one and send it to myself in the second. Pretty plain grass garden except there are 8 houses. One for each sour species.

I do believe that it is by Garden, FK.
If not, I may soon have a Mallow problem...

When I 1st stared I tried something of the sort, I set up a pen with an open gate and filled it with seeds to lure in the sour shelly bean.
Sure enough he crawled right in and ate all the seeds and I shut the gate. But I hadn't learned to check a pinata's info yet to see the taming requirements and hadn't put in apple seeds. All I knew was that "if you give a sour lots of something it likes it'll become tame" (an old mention from a pre-release article) So I kept trying to get it to eat buttercup seeds.
If a sour is fenced in it will bcome sick as soon as it realizes it cannot leave your garden, The odd thing is that Dastardos never came for it either, and no other shellybean sours would come in. I was pretty sure I had found the trick to holding off sours. But evetually just broke him open to tame a new one. perhaps I was just too low a level to see dastardos?

This is an over all decition!!! Make sure to turn the Tower of Sour pecies back on before entering another garden or you will have Sour problems in your other gardens.

How small was the pen, Teklanika? I can't say I know for sure but with a big enough pen (14x14?) then you might just be able to give them enough space without them falling ill.
Be sure to use something like the stone fence from Ivor, though, as it should be strong to try and stop them from breaking out themselves.
Has someone added the wish to keep sours on the wanted list (http://pinataisland.info/forum/showthread.php?t=44)?

Have you ever tried leaving them, LRB? the reason I ask is because I thought the same thing, but forgot... And the totem remains off for my sour garden only.

LOL. No. I was makeing the garden and asked if anyone knew if this was the case, ages ago. I thought BIGsheep told be it was overall, so I never tried.
FYI; 'The Sour Patch' was very short lived. It's actually now the place that the Pinata Fashion shows Pictures are taken and often houses Wild Cards or Twins of short periods. I just made it to take some pictures.

Ah. Haven't decided yet how long I'll keep mine... I was using it to grow weeds/make money, plus have sours roaming around. I hired 4 weedlings and a couple of gatherers, but unfortunately the weeds didn't really make all that much money and the Cocoadiles kept scaring off the helpers. Not worth the trouble, plus the sours were lying around dying more than walking.
More recently I've used it to tame sours to transport to my Tamed Sour Retirement Villa :)

When you get Seedos in the middle of your garden, trapped, he eventually teleports to the edge of your garden and laughs at you.
Would sours just phase right out?

I've seen the same behavior. Toggling the Tower of Sour only affects the garden you're currently in.

I have attempted to keep sours and other non-restident Pinata, and I've had some... 'Interesting' results from my experiment.
I managed to box in a Sour Mallowolf but used the wrong fence and it escaped. I trapped a Sour Marracaracoon but it fell ill becuase the fencing was too small. I managed to get a sour Profitermole in a 14x14 pen, which I thought would work. It was perfectly fine for a few in game days then fell ill and was broken open by Dastardos despite my best efforts to protect the poor creature.
Conclusion: Sours cannot, and will not be captured and kept. *sigh*
Same goes for non residents. A got a non resident Syrupent trapped in stone fencing but it became sick. There just has to be a way around this.
Oh yes, and I would love for there to be a certain covered fencing so that you could keep flying Pinata in one place, almost like an 'avairy'. It would be very helpful.

I try to fence them in but they just fly over it.... Pretty annoying
