This could easily become one of my favorite movies! I have loved the play "Sweeney Todd" scince I was in Kindergarden! I even own the play Album! And I know who played every charector and what their name was and what instrument they played in the play! Look:
Mrs Lovett- Patti LuPone (Tuba, Percussion)
Sweeney Todd- Micheal Cerveris (Guitar)
Judge Turpin- Mark Jacoby (Trumpet, Percussion)
Pirelli- Donna Lyne Champlin (Accordion, Piano, Flute)
Tobias- Manoel Felciano (Violin, Clarinet, Piano)
The Beadle- Alexander Gemignani (Piano, Trumpet)
Jonas Fogg- John Arboo (Bass)
Beggar Woman- Diano DiMarzio (Clarinet)
Anthony- Benjamin Magnuson (Callo, Piano)
Johanna- Lauren Molina (Cello)

There sure are a lot of Pianos in the Play, aren't there?

But the movie also looks AWEful! (Yeah, I just made that up. Not to get confused with Awful, this is the exact opposite of that)

I never saw the play. But I like films from Tim Burton like you dont expect. And he makes the films at UK pinewood studios :D I dont know if Johnny Depp can sing. Maybe he got special training for the film

::gape:: I can't believe you've never heard of it!
Anyway...
I'm so, so excited for this, it's not even funny.
I practically worship Tim Burton...
When he's coupled with Johnny Depp, he's even more amazing (not as amazing as the dynamic Burton+Elfman duo, but hey, still!).
And then with Alan Rickman and Helena Bonham Carter on cast...
Nnnh, I'm so excited.
We get out of school that day for break, so maybe I'll be able to see it then...

Ohmahgah, I just got back in from seeing this.
It was, like... amazing beyond, like, all belief.
Okay, so yeah, I'm probably a bit biased, but still.
<3 Chris and I laughed at most of the deaths, haha.
Haven't seen it yet? Go see it, foo's!

I'm sure the violence is not THAT bad...
I didn't think it was that bad at all.
As I said, my friend and I laughed at a lot of the deaths.
Then again... this comes from the person who laughs at Saw and Hostel's gore...
But still, I think as long as you can deal with seeing copious amounts of blood gushing forth, you'll be good to go.
Even if you can't... don't let violence put you out from seeing such an awesome movie, haha. =]

Haha, a little violence doesn't scare me at all, it's my mum who didn't want me to go.
I did anyway. :]
Yeah, it was quite bloody (but I laughed like the cold-hearted person I am) and there were a few violent moments, but I've read the musical and it's pretty faithful.
The music is just amazing, though a few of the voices sounded out-of-place.
And the judge (who I believe to be played by Alan Rickman) plays Snape so my friends and I made cracks like
"Mr. Potter." and "50 points from Griffindor".
But yes, it's very good but if you can't stand copious amounts of blood or violence, then just don't go.
It's R for a reason. :]

He was trying to stir up controversy. FAIL!

Personally, although ST looks pretty awesome, I'm waiting it out to see if Pirates of the Carribean: The Fountain of Youth comes out.

It sounds muck like the Boosh though.
