In the episode "Slayin' them at the Sands" do you think Paulie and Fergy really thought Pester was funny or were they just faking it to get Pester to keep on going?

I'm saying Fergy, Paulie, & The Ruffians were actually laughing but here's when the trick comes in, whenever they're clowing around with Prescott they keep on laughing but with Pester's trick they didn't laugh at all.

And to me Paulie and Fergy were laughing just as much as the Pieenas and know candy was flying out of them.
