I'll assume Rare is craftily replacing the screens every now and then. Perhaps everyday. That, of course, is due to the fact that that very screenshot is in place of where the other one once was.

The most interesting aspect of the screen is the Wheelbarrel and what appears to be a blue basket. I'm not positive, but they could just be items to lay about the Garden, but given the fact they're on the actual leaf pedals surrounding the Journal, they actually be a couple of the new tools.

I was thinking that clicking on the wheelbarrel would open up more petals, your tools? And that clicking on the shopping basket would give you the list of shops you can go to. So it basicly just replaces the X button from the xbox. (Keep in mind that these are just my assumptions.)

My understanding is the game will have all the current species, plus additional ones :) We don't know how many species total, or whether they'll also become available for Windows or Xbox.

Great observation. I think you're absolutely right. I hadn't thought about it being used in that way, but it makes perfect sense.

I didnt like the look of this at the start but now I like it alot it may not beat the first one but for a handheld it looks good.

Anyways, I love the graphics in the game, looks like Rare is recreating the miracle rendering techniques they used in Donkey Kong Country! :D

Do you guys think they will have the same grass, long grass, dirt water etc as xbox or do you think they might bring in a few more types of ground?? like snow e.g. i reckon it will just be like the xbox... anyone know anything about that??? any new tress etc??? what new pinatas will be in it?? and how many more??? what do you guys think??

Nope, but hey, you can pretty much think of a few of them right off the bat; Jeli; Pengum; Lemonees; that kangaroo one that never made it to the original...

Are you kidding? Compared to the NINTENDO 64 it does! (If you don't believe me, play super mario 64, and then try the DS version)

Honestly, I've been impressed with the DS's graphics and capabilities since day one. (Surround sound? On a handheld? TWO SCREENS?! Better graphics and more content than an n64 in that little cartridge?!?! Magic!)

Yeah, i was underestimating it. The DS is very close to an N64 in performance terms and any percieved improvements in game quality on the DS over the N64 is probably more a reflection on the experience of the engineers and artists developing for it. But i take your point.

Back to topic; Rare have recently put out 2 new screenshots for VPDS which i think look pretty cool. But they're hidden on the website. Can anyone find any others?

So why does the journal look like a peice of paper rather than a book?

It was probably redesigned because the journal has to open up and down like a scroll because the DS's screens are taller than they are wide. ^^ I hope the arctic and kangaroo pinatas make it in.

I really liked the screenshot with Patch and Dastardos, it really showed the detail of the character renders.

Hmmmm... well, I'd like to see any of the various interface elements that are different from VP:Classic. Things like the Pinata Pyramid (which I forgot to ask about in the interview)... I'd like to see screenshots of anything else along those lines has been added.
