How do you get xbox live?

I'm geting xbox live in september and I want to know how to set it up.Thank you.

2 ways, either buy it from inside your xbox or go buy a card from the store. They both cost the same, but if you have a diamond card, you can save 10% by buying it from Circuitcity.com online and picking it up 20 minutes later at the store. Another advantage are the packs. You can get XBL with a vision cam or other accessories. Just have to shop around.

You also need fast access. Cable, DSL, t1 or t3

Dont forget you need a credit card to sign up as well. They don't charge anything unless you actually buy stuff. Also, you'll need an email so you can connect to xbox.com

You can make an xbox live account at www.xbox.com.
Connect your xbox to xbox live and press 'recover gamertag from xbox live' and fill in your gamertag, e-mail, password etc.

This is how I did it. I made a whole new account and started over with all my games. I'm not sure if you want to do this but I don't know how to get an offline gamerprofile online.

ok... do NOT bother with the 48 hour free code.

get on your 360 and make a user name, then hook it up to the internet..

you will get a free 1 month gold subscription this way.

once the 1 month is over you then get down graded to a silver.


good thing about VP... you can trade pinatas with just a silver account.


note: if you signup via xbox.com you will not receive your 1 month free.

To get it on your console:
(make sure that your xbox is connected to xbox live).

And I coppied it from xbox.com

If you have made a Xbox profile already, you can connect THAT profile to a new XBL account.

From the main screen. rather than choosing: messages, friends. etc...

highlight your player card. and click

youll see games played... edit profile... and at the bottom... Join xbox live.

it will connect with the internet.

at this point, if your NAME is like "player 1" or " killer", it will tell you that you need to choose a new name.

here, you can choose a unique name for XBL and still keep all your gamer points.

just follow the directions and at the end itll give you a free month.

i JUST made a brand new account and linked it to XBL.

it did not allow me to make a silver. it only asked how I would like to pay for my gold account once the free month has lapsed.

OK, PINATAcast says that when you make an acount on your xbox you get a free month xbox live gold. I suggest you should try that.

I've never tried to make more than one account without paying so I'm not sure but I'm postive you can decline the Gold. Not that you would want to but I've done it before.

To be honest I think that we've answered the question pretty throughly so there is really no reason to get worked up.
