I just heard on the news that the Baigi Freshwater Dolphin is now been classified as Extinct.

This is a massive loss. It was due to lack of prey for it, and pollution.

The Baigi Dolphin swam in the Yanksi River, in China.

Wherever it is, it is a massive shock, as it has been about 50 years since the last classified extinct animal.

The Przwalski Horse & Black Rhino are the two other animals classed as critically endanfgered.

I recieveth more information, and I now know it was exclusive to China. The cruel irony is that when the rescue strted, they'd already begun their slow extinction.

Well I'll give a philosophical view. If some animals don't go extinct there will be no room for new species. Imagine trying to fight away the Dinosaurs everyday on your way to work/school.

That's horrible.
It's bad enough that a species has gone extinct, but...
God. Humans are so disgusting.
I know some pollution is always inevitable, of course, but... still... we need to be doing more against it.
We're just going to end up killing ourselves with the way the world is...

yetizai, that's true, but when animals go extinct because of humans invading their habitat, killing their prey, and polluting their home, it isn't in any way a good thing for us or the planet.

It is sad for a dolphin species to go extinct...

Skyei, I see your point but you can't call it unnatural because we are animals as well. Please don't take it as minimalizing that there are problems. However nature has a curious way of balancing things. Even if we don't understand or see it happening.

sure... humans are animals... animals who build huge civilizations, enslave or kill anything we deem subordinate, have wars on the global scale and pride ourselves in slaughtering woodland creatures for "sport"

And the vast majority of humans don't consider themselves animals, anyway, either out of hubris or ignorance.

you see, humans are indeed a very unatural species, if you will.
Unlike other animals, humans have the ability to create great things, and those creations at the hands of humanity fall into the catagory of unatural things

And yet...somehow..life goes on...thats the scary part
