As an experienced Argonian vampire, I can confirm you can't kill anyone or infect them by feeding. ^_- So don't fret about it.

I loved this game when I played it.

I've played every expansion pack... including... Horse Armor :'(

I've beaten it twice. And have made over 6 Characters.

I've been a mage. A Fighter.

And a special combination that very few use: a Touch Marksman.

Spell Arrow.

Someone that uses no swords, only bows, and uses Touch magic as a primary close range attack.

Focuses strongly on Sneak, Marksman, and Destruction. But also very good in Alchemy for Poisons.

Touch Marksman eh? I can see the advantages of that. You've got the bow and arrows for medium/long rang, but as soon as they start getting close you can just burn/freeze their faces off. I'll have to try this class out sometime. :)

03-31-2007, 11:11 PM
If you are at least level 15, any of the Merchants who sell magical equipment may stock them. Places where you can always find empty grand soul gems include:

* Calindil at the Mystic Emporium in the Market District has one, which can be bought or pickpocketed.
* Alves Uvenim at the Leyawiin Mages Guild has one that can be pickpocketed (for example, while she is sleeping).
* You can steal one from Melisande's basement (accessible through the fireplace next to her bed)
* There is one available in nearby Squandered Mine while you are on this quest.
* There is one available in the Crayfish Steep zone of nearby Crayfish Cave.
* There is one in the Arch-Mage's Lobby of the Arcane University. It is in an unlocked display case along with two more Grand Soul Gems that are not empty.
* There is one in an unlocked display case in the Mage Quarters of the Arcane University at the bottom of the staircase on the left as you enter.
* The Chorrol Mages Guild has a few in locked display cases.

Be warned though, that the quest for a cure for vampirism is a very long one.

Getting the gems is only the start of your troubles....

Cool :) No more flaky face for you then hehe. What class is your character?

I have custom class, stealthy wood elf hunter type. At the moment. I can kill most monsters using 1 shot from my bow when in sneak mode!

When I have finished the main quest and all the guild quests im gonna start a game where i try and finish the main quest as fast as possible from scratch. used to love speed running Metroid games on Gamecube and I think Oblivion would be well suited to it aswell

Theres a very simple glitch that will copy items.

First the bow, arrows, or items can not be stolen items. To fix this sell them to a fence then rebuy :)

Glitch: Ok, take out and bow with arrows equipped. Now check the bow icon at the bottom center and make sure it has the # of arrows you got equipped. If it doesn't just shot an arrow.

Ok, now this will copy and item x the amount of arrows. So 50 arrows = 50 itmes. First pull out you bow with the number of equipped arrows you want. Then pull a arrow, with the arrows drawn press B. Now select the arrows you have equipped, then go to the item you want to copy and drop it. Now close the inventory and watch the items generate.

Tips:

Don't go over like 230 arrows this will lag and very possibly freeze you game. Also reduce this number if you copying big items.

Quest items don't work as long as some other items.

If it doesn't work the first time try a few more times before giving up. Sometimes it just doesn't do it on the first time. Also it doesn't work in some rooms.

I totally ripped this from cheatplant :)

Gotta love the Skeleton Key. It's a Thief's best friend.

So did anyone else get the Shivering Isles expansion? I did, and I must say it is well worth the money. There's tons more items to get including various cool looking armor and weaponry. There's also a spell you get near the end which allows you to stop time.

mallowolf
04-04-2007, 03:57 PM
easy way of getting level ups is to persuade people constantly, it took a while though

MikkDC
04-04-2007, 06:15 PM
Remember though that you only level up when you increase your major skills by a total of 10 points. However doing this will only allow you to add 1 or 2 points in 3 of your attributes. If you play it well and don't level up until you have levelled up your MINOR skills governed by the attributes you want to increase, you will be able to add up to 5 points to that attribute.

For an in depth description look click here (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Efficient_Leveling)

An extremely easy method to level up quickly though is pick acrobatics and athletics as major skills and run around and jump repeatedly. Also the further you fall from a jump will make the acrobatics skill level up more quickly.

If you dont have those as major skills then just use whatever your major skills are as much as possible. Here are some of the quicker ways depending on what you have as major skills:

If speechcraft is a major skill do the persuasion mini game many times to level up as mentioned by mallowolf.

Wear whatever type of armor (light/heavy) is one of your major skills (you did pick at least one armor as a major skill didnt you?! hehe) and let weak creatures such as mudcrabs hit you. Likewise if block is one of your major skills just let enemies attack you and block all the time!

Blade/Blunt/Hand to Hand - just go round beating stuff up with said weapon (or bare hands if you have hand to hand as major skill).

Armorer - use the repair hammers as much as possible on your badly damaged stuff.

Destruction - use attacking magic to beat monsters down

Restoration - find/make a spell that heals very little HP and costs very little to cast. Jump off somewhere high (but not TOO high) to injure yourself. Steep hills are ideal. Now just use said spell numerous times to heal yourself.

Those are the fastest ways to level up with major skills but remember ...... as you level up ...... so do the mosnters you fight.....

elstupido
04-05-2007, 05:58 PM
that's why you should what I did, don't level up! :D

MikkDC
04-05-2007, 06:34 PM
LOL! Thats one way of doing things but some quests arent available until you reach certain levels.

elstupido
04-06-2007, 09:34 AM
but that's only the Daedra quests, though, the rest could be completed at a mere level one!

mallowolf
04-06-2007, 03:42 PM
but you get stronger when your on high levels!! :)

MikkDC
04-06-2007, 06:48 PM
Yeah. Im a completist though. I like to do all the quests, get all the weapons, see everything there is to see ............... eventually. I still have a way to go on Oblivion (still only on 390 points, aint played much of late).

Heres some of the more fun things to try out:
Push summoned creatures off Dive Rock! (awesome view from here by the way)
This also serves as a fun way to level up your conjuration. Just summon something and push it off Dive Rock. Rinse and repeat. In about one hour, you can boost your Conjuration thirty levels.

Extreme Acrobatics

* For this little time waster, you should optimally have at least Journeyman Restoration skill, 100 Intelligence & Willpower, and AT LEAST 75 Acrobatics skill.

* Make a spell that fortifies Acrobatics 100 pts for as long as possible, and same for Athletics and/or speed (if you can move faster you can jump further). This is why I recommend high values, although it can be done with very low skills, just not as effectively. Wear the boots of Springheel Jak if you have them. The effect of Acrobatics maxes at skill level 255, so with the spell and boots, you can bring it up to 250, enough to get almost anywhere.

* Go to any city and jump either to the highest point possible (like roofs of houses or city walls) or find the most scenic high location and take a screenshot, simply because it looks good. It can be very difficult to jump onto the Chapels' steeples from the ground, but it is fun to try.

* A lot of what makes this fun is the trial and error, plotting the best acrobatic, aerial path to your destination. You will discover that this is more fun in some cities than others

Its the best game on the 360 in my opinion (sorry VP, you are #2).

First you make a character, 10 races to choose from and let ik look how you want it. After that you choose a birthsign, make a class and exit the sewers. Now you can do everything you want. You can decide to become an assassin, kill everyone at night or become the hero to save the world and close every Oblivion gate. The thing is, you can do what you want. Buy every house in the game or collect every weapon.

Oblivion is not "crap" at all. Oblivion is the best game, in my opinion, for 360. And probably will be... until banjo-threeie comes out.
In response to you Zap, I do not find it boring at all. I find halo boring. I find gears of war boring. I think Oblivion is infinately better and much more engaging. So there :/

Oblivion has spent ten years in the making so anyone who calls anything in this game crappy should be tarred and feathered and hung from a tree and beat with a stick. (and then should be broken open to reveal candy.)

Sort of like Fable, only much more in-depth. As for what you do, it's your choice. You can completely blow off the main quest (find the king's heir to stop the world from ending) and do whatever you want. Join the evil Dark Brotherhood, or the Fighters/Thieves/Mages Guild, etc. I highly recommend this game!

YAAY! I knew there had to be an Oblivion thread around here somewhere. I'm currently hooked on VP and Oblivion. I'm only at level 8 though. It's hard to level up on that game. I do have a question though. Once you buy a house, are you stuck with it? I bought the little crappy shack in Bravil. Then I heard that the haunted house in (oh I forgot the city) is much better, so I bought that and did the whole mission and now that house is mine. Am I stuck with that little Bravil shack too? Can you sell your houses?

I think the more appropriate question would be "why don't you?". But i will answer your question. I play Morrowind, Oblivion, Shivering Isles, and Knights of the Nine because not only is it filled with action and multiple twists, but it's almost like getting to live inanother world for a bit. It helps people relax, because you get to leave your life to start another. There. Now you know. If you don't have the game already, I recommend you get it. But you must get the game of the year edition of oblivion, because it's less money. Morrowind only comes on Xbox, not 360.

I play those games for these three reason more then anything else:

1. I'm bored almost 24/7. So I have to be playing a game/on the internet in order to fight it.

2. It's fun 8D

3. If your on the PC, you can mod it and change the way the world acts/looks or just add some new stuff 8D (You can't mod Daggerfall nor Arena, though D8)

Good enough of a reason for me! The question is, is it for you?
