Hey! I've finally decided to create my own lil' graphics organization.


But before you join... you must contemplate if you are a Graphix Junkie or are simply a mere mortal.


And by the wonderful BOLD lettering I bet you can guess what the name of this fine establishment is- The PIF Graphix Junkies

Yep. those lucky mortals who survive my test of graphic-y doom will be creating not only sigs and avs for all of the PIF forum members, but will be making some darn fine wallpapers for your comp and xbox, kicking off some great graphics-themed contests, winning mad CC in giveaways, and may even get a shot at writing or drawing an upcoming comic strip.

MOOCHERS will join G.J. but will not be interested in creating graphics. They are here for all the great member-exclusive contests and giveaways. When moochers contribute to the Graphics Junkies by other means than making graphics, they move on to become NOBLES.

NOBLES were once moochers but have helped us Graphix Junkies somehow. What they lack in art-skills, they make up for in generosity and know-how. Nobles are the same as moochers, essentially, but are far much cooler.

You know, you can upload custom pictures to use on your xbox dashboard. It's free and so much prettier.

Skkipy, can I please see some of your graphics work? I haven't seen any besides your current sig, if you made that. If you don't have any other graphics you've made, you can be an apprentice and then after you've made some GJ stuff you can be promoted to creator.

I believe FK's way works too, but the USB port is simpler.

Still having issues with size though. The first one I made was way smaller then it looked like it was going to be, then this one ended up much bigger?!? I think it might be putfile. It may be sizeing them when I upload it?

I believe you're right. Although I don't use that provider, look for an option to disable that. I think Photobucket has a similar "feature" that I avoid.

LRB to help you out, it probably is the image-share website that is resizing it. If you've already checked the size in paint before you upload, and it changed, than it definately is. I dunno what FK is talking about, but I'd recommend using photobucket :P I use it to upload stuff, and it never fails.
Also, check what file type it's saved as before you upload. I'd recommend saving it as .png or .gif

Oh, and you know people who aren't good with graphics can join too. You can support us by giving us teh cash for some BIG members-only (and some public :P) giveaways and contests! :D

I can make shockwave with director mx 2004 (its like the flash stuff you see on the internet) and i have Photoshop CS3. I took a year long multimedia class which for 4 moths covered photoshop so i know how to work it im just not all that creative is the problem :)

This is as big as it will get, but if you can give me the all of the pics used in your sig I probly can clean it up a bit to make it look more clearer. :)

the fastest way to change your xbox background is to take many different images you want to try out on your Xbox and put them on a USB jump drive, Cdrom or port them over with Media Center Network.

Goto your dashboard. flip over to the media blade. Click pictures, then where ever you have them. CD, USB, etc.

You can then view the images and see how the resolution looks on your screen.

Something to keep in mind is to always use "Landscape" pictures rather than portrait or oddly shaped pictures. If you have no clue what I am talking about, you dont need to be reading a Graphic Artist thread. lol

Anyway, once you find the image you want to use as your Background, click the X button. This will take your current Blade color (Glass or carbon) and what ever pattern you have for your Guide blade (the blade that slides out when you hit the guide button during game play) and applies that BG image to all 5 blades.

At this time M$ has not updated this feature where you can make 1 pic per blade, but it is said that it will eventually get to that point.

Your image is now an official Theme!

goto your guide blade and into your theme selector.

click edit theme.

Now change the guide blade background and Blade tips.

and your done!

Another neat trick, goto your memory in the system blade.

goto your hard drive, then themes. The name of the theme you just created is the same name as the file of the jog you used.

Highlight that theme, hit Y, copy it to your memory stick, and share your theme with friends.

My GOW clan did this, we just mails a card around to each other.

FYI kid, you might want to use proper grammar and call yourself Graphic Junkies. You cant have the modifying word plural if the word your modifying is plural.

the max banner size for this this forum is 450x100 I beleive.

yea. ive spent way to much $ on aftermarket photoshop filters over the last years.

the space one was done with lighting effect in PS and the balls were done with a 3d plugin for PS.

the last one was a lot of wacom work.

Those are great! Did you use bits of your artwork for the background?

well @ work i have CS3 but I am on CS2 on my Macbook pro right now.

But you can do that kinda stuff on Photoshop 6 if you wanted to.

And the backgrounds were done by a freeware Fractal program and PS.CS2
