I have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Their names are Hobbes and Buddy. Hobbes and Buddy have a friend named Guinness. Poor Guinness is in trouble! Guinness is the same breed as my dogs. He hasn't been eating for the past few days. he hasn't been drinking either. Or been his natural self. So his owner obviously took him to the vet. The vet had no clue what was wrong with Guinness, but thought that maybe he ate something that he shouldn't of eaten.
The doctor put Guinness through surgery to explore his stomach and find out what was the blockage. There was nothing that the vet could find. When the doctor was about to suture him up, Guinness's heart stopped. The vet managed to successfully resuscitate him, but Guinness has an inflamed colon!!!
I am not asking for donations for the operation or anything. I just felt that it would be good to get it off of my chest.

I am so sorry. I am usually a crude, negative person when I am tired but I am almost in tears, give him my best wishes and a kiss on the forehead for me. I didn't feel all that great already, but this is really killin me, I am very sorry.

I heard from you about what happened to your dogs friend.
I'm so sorry, zach3116.
I hope that what Guinness has is not serious, and that he can recover soon.

Oh I hope so Ryan, I hope so. But Guinness's owner hopes even more.

I personally know the heartbreak of having a dog close to death.
My dog, Chase, wouldn't drink or eat for about a day before we took him to the vet. He would sound like he was choking all the time. What happened was he swallowed a Rubber boucey ball and it become lodged in his stomach.
He had to stay at the vet for 3 days.
Then another time he got hit by a car and they thought he would never walk right again.
Luckily he survived, and came out just fine on both counts and is a happy, healthy dog at the age of 6 years old.
Just as I'm sure that poor, poor, Guinness will do.
He will be in my prayers, and for sure tell the Owners that.

Thanks Gnome. You got lucky there. My friend had two things like taht happen to her dog. They ahd to put him down though. Two years after getting hit by a car. It was both from old age and because of his past injury. Poor Jackson

Give my best wishes to Guiness and I hope he is able to fully recover and get back to being his normal self. I'm glad they found out what is wrong with him so they can possibly fix it.

Thanks for all the support guys! When I see Guinness I'll be sure to tell him that you guys all supported him! I think my dogs will be having a playdate on tuesday. I'm not sure if Guinness is capable to do that, but we'll see! I hope they can. =)
