My Fourth of July plans pretty much boil down to enjoying the local fireworks show.

I'd like to wish all our American members a happy (and safe) Fourth of July!
Furthermore, I’d like to ask members that, while enjoying their vacations and firework shows, they should also try to remember what this day means.
History Professor Walter A. McDougall (the University of Pennsylvania) had these words (http://www.fpri.org/ww/0504.200407.mcdougall.july4holyday.html) to say in an essay about July 4th,
…the highest of all holy days is still the Fourth of July. After the Civil War it gained even more prominence because Independence Day called Southerners and Northerners alike back to what unified them in the first place: their faith in themselves, in God’s special providence, in their ancestors’ courage and sacrifice, in the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness a unified federal republic made possible. Should the Fourth of July ever cease to be a day “set apart” for joy, pride, and community, then the text approved on that day will turn as cold as the body in Lenin’s tomb. But so, too, may it perish if the Fourth of July becomes nothing but a day of self-congratulation and pride. It is a day when Americans, especially young ones, must reflect on how absurdly implausible the birth of this nation was, how its survival hung by a thread on many occasions, and how its Founders were emboldened because—be they Protestants, Catholics, Jews, Deists, or Freemasons — they believed the Author of History meant this to happen.
It's a good time to reflect on America, its founding, and its future.

Sadly fireworks have become illegal here in california. Well not illegal for disney land to use them because I saw some onf riday but for people like ourselves to sue them. HAPPY FOURTH!

the only plans i have are possibly going to a skateboarding competition haha its not really 4th of july related, though. i dont really celebrate this holiday

^ Your crazy! I celebrate. Im going to my cousins house for a huge party at their new mini mansion with a pool, jacuzzi, and more! Its gonna rock! Then on july 5th, me and my family are going to san diego for a week! Rock on!!!!!!
