Tips for the Three Red Lights

I now know the heart wrenching agony that is the 3 red lights. I have snuffed out that my copy of Viva PInata is the problem; it always crashed, and now it killed my 360. Does anybody have any tips on what to do before I have to call MicroSoft? Thanks.

Your system overheated and the only way to prevent it is to buy a cooler for the system. So it's too late for your system.

Then you don't have to pay shipping :D

But yeah, its fried. Save your HDD drive and throw the hunk of metal to the MS building.

this thread will save someones 360.

It survived!!
First, we had to move all games away from the power brick
Then, we had to keep a fan near it.
Finally, putting VP in, the game that killed my console saved it.

So, if you see the Devil's own Lights on YOUR 360, run screaming to this thread before you freak out at MS.

You are VERY lucky. Some people try everything that you did and more and there 360's stay broken. I'd have to saty 1 in every 4 360's that 3 red light actually recover.

Coolers don't work too well. All they are are extra fans blowing out the air that's already being blown out by the fans built into the 360.

I know that sounds a bit confusing, but think about it.

I left my 360 on all night once (on accident,) looked at it in the morning and saw the 3 red lights of death. I freaked out, turned the power off and then back on and it was perfectly fine. Yeah me!

i have had no chance ot play my 360 for 2 weeks since i sent it in. CURSE YOU RING OF DEATH, CURSE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
