Awesome! It's like a Tablet PC, except with pressure-sensitive technology and the ability to touch more than one area at a time! The future of computing is coming!

I sw that on the news the other night. The photo sharing is amazing!

They'd better use a good surface material, or there would be plenty of fingerprints on the screen.

Also, do you think they will come out with a portable version of this? All the models I've seen have been large-scale.

They will probably make a scaller one as they get more into it. On the news, Bill Gates said that it would be in developement for many more years until all of the kinks were worked out.

Until all the kinks are worked out? I don't think that day will ever come for Microsoft.

I don't think that day will come for anyone.

It uses a projector to display the image from under the table and then two infrared cameras to figure out what is happening on the surface. So the surface needn't be shiny glass. Hopefully they can avoid too many finger prints, or make it easy to clean!

I must say the photo stuff looked pretty cool. It'll be a while before you can get one of these from Dell! I believe they are talking about these ones going in to hotels and restaurants at a cost of about $10,000.

Wow. That's one expensive computer. If I ever get a mansion, I'm getting me one of those :P.

Like everything else, it will get common and much less expensive, though.

Oh, definately. Just look at the cost of video projectors these days. They are less than 25% of the cost 5 years ago. HDTV's whether Plasma or LCD have shown similar trends in recent years, as will HD-DVD and BlueRay players.

In a few years, this touch screen thing will be the price of a normal computer today, maybe a little more, but that would still be a good.

Imagin playing Zoo Tycoon on that computer.

Hotels and restaurants? What if you spill a glass of water on it? That's $10,000 down the drain. They'll need a surface that can withstand quite a bit.

Well, the whole screen looked to me like one big, flat surface with no crevices. If there were nothing but a solid screen on top and nothing else, drink spills would not have an effect on it, unless it dripped under the bottom. There might be some places for a power button or something on top, in which water could possibly seep in.

I'm sure it's on the side so nothing like that would happen.

Virtual bear mats and bar towels should prevent any mess from drink spillage, well virtually.
