I was planning to get it when they first announced it.
The closer it got to release and the more details they released the less interested I became.

I've played the Shadowrun RPG for years, and while this game is somewhat similar, it's not Shadowrun.
Shadowrun is not just about mass combat, there's alot more to it.
With no singleplayer story mode there is no way to even come close to the RPG in a FPS.

I know there's no way to fit Shadowrun into a 360 game, but there's a lot more they could have done differently to make it look and feel more like a Shadowrun.
It does still look like a decent game though, even with all of the contradictions between the FPS and RPG.

The big thing that killed it for me though is the lack of a singleplayer mode. I've played online games for years, done everything from a guild and raid leader in EQ to playing on a sponsored team in BF2.
Partially I'm just tired of online, but also I've learned that the majority of people, when hiding behind the anonymity of the internet, become ignorant and arrogant.

Simple instructions become a complicated ordeal, respect goes out the window, and in the end it becomes nothing but an unorganized bickering contest over something that in reality is not that important.

I just can't spend $60 to listen to somebody complain about how everybody else cheats when they lose, or the constant degradation when they win, and for the complete lack of structured gameplay because most people try to be Rambo and refuse to make any sort of a team effort.

I just got this game today, and so far I think it could turn out pretty cool once I get used to the controls and tactics that come with the tech, magic, weaponry combo.

How is the sportsmanship though?
I agree that it looks like a very cool game, the community that it attracts though will make or break it.

A few of my PC based friends have dabbled with it and so far their say it's solid without being amazing. I couldn't get much more out of them than that, though, because they wanted to go back and play some more.

That's what I did. He asked me how it was. I told him it was amazing but to try the demo because of mixed reviews...Sheesh...what was he thinking? Asking me a question in the middle of a match...
