Love the K9 Dog, I'm a huge fan of smart dogs. And the little one in the uniform.
The bunnys are super cute, Stef would like to have a Bunny, but were not really set up for one, with the cats and all.

We also have an assortment of Fish, the most impressive being the Parrot fish, I guess. We used to have a Axilotil{sp?} that used to lurk in the bottom depths of our fish tank. He would eat a Gold fish from time to time, but he has reaently passed on.

Slinky wasn't a fish, he was an Axolotl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axolotl), I don't have a pitcure of ours, I can find right now, but it's a type of Salamander. The link has a picture and will explain what it is. Slinky was very cool.

The smaller orange one passes away recently, but the other are: Timmy (large bronze) Grim Reaper (black one), Black Beard (orange w/ white tail), Lazurus (white), and Samael (small multi-colored one).

I also have 2 Zebra finches named Isis and Hathor (no pictures although).

We give him catfood and gamebird seed.
Peacocks like the catfood but it isnt nutritious so we make sure to round out his diet with something healthy.

The Picture at the VERY BEGINNING of this thread - Black's cat is a snowshoe: half Siamese and half American Shorthair. It's a breed o'cat.

The birds are Lily and Steve, we don't romance dance them... and the frog is named Freddie. The interesting thing about Freddie is that he's fully aquatic... he lives in a fish tank underwater all the time.

Yes, but there arn't any where I live, well one at the petting zoo, they are only open in the summer, but he walks around the park all summer.

I don't know about Canada, but they're not native to Arizona either, but people here keep them as pets. as well as ostriches (I'll try to snap some pics of some of the farm animals that live here this week if anyone wants)

Isn't it illegal to keep animals such as a Peacock or Ostrich? Or does that law apply to much more exotic animals because I forgot. Anyways I have a dog who has a whole assortment of nicknames that I can call him. He is extremely active and he frequently tries to jump and lick my face whenever he has the chance and if I'm on the floor.

I'm not really quite sure how it's done, you might have to obtain special permits to have them,like with certain wild birds (hawks,ect.)

Peacocks do not require any permits,there like any turkey or chicken. Just regular domestic animals. They actually border on being a pest. But because of there beauty they have been kept off those lists. Peacocks are also used in europe on big properties as guard animals, for there loud cries. There like any turkey or chicken. Just regular domestic animals.

You should come to hole in the ground arizona. Its not uncommon to see chickens running across the roads, or other wildstock..

I've got a lot of pets.
+ Double Trouble, Lindsay, Boscoe, and Daisy -- all dogs. Double Trouble and Lindsay and Boscoe's sons; their mother died a few years ago. Boscoe's a purebred pug, and DT/Lindsay... well, their mother, Bassie -- nobody knows what breeds she was, as she had a lot of different characteristics. But they're half pug, half... um... other stuff. Double Trouble is technically my friend's dog, but he moved to Maine and couldn't take him with him, so we kept him for his family. Daisy is new -- her previous owner had her leg amputated, and couldn't take care of her, so we took her in. I'm not sure what she is, but I know she's half dachshund.
+ Thomas, Boderek, Dusk, and Eclipse -- all cats. Thomas was a wild cat that someone raised and was going to have to put down, so we stepped in and took him. He's pretty amazing; he acts like a dog (he loves dog food, hah), fights the dogs, and is pretty much the coolest cat ever. He's short-haired, black and white. Boderek is tiny; she's kitten sized, but she's like five years old. She's got long fur and is black. Dusk and Eclipse are my kittens; I just got them a few weeks ago as a very belated birthday gift. Dusk is tanned, slightly long-haired, and is seriously ADD; Eclipse is short-haired, black, and more reserved than his brother. They're my little babies. <3
+ Yoshi, an eastern box turtle. Funny story... I woke up one morning to a turtle about five inches from my face. Our dogs had found him and brought him in, and naturally delivered him straight to my pillow. Mmhm, fantastic. Whatever -- we've had him for a few years.
+ Dracula, my hamster. [: I love him. He's very small, and he's black-and-white, but he's adorable. His actual name is Dracula, but I sometimes call him Vlad or Vladdy.
+ Regal and Raine, my peach-faced lovebirds. They're a nesting pair, and they have had eggs hatch. They're okay, I guess; not very sociable to anyone, really.
+ Naughty, Corkie, Bam-Bam, Hagar, and Blondie -- all cockatiels. Blondie's a lutino; Hagar is probably half-lutino. Blondie and Hagar are mates. Bam-Bam's mate was Pebbles, but she died a few years ago. Corkie can rotate his head and does so very often while he dances -- it's really... interesting, I guess you'd say, to watch. Naughty received his name (he was the only one who came unnamed) because of the fact that I was changing their food and water soon after we'd gotten them, and he escaped from the cage and flew around for a while. Naughty's the friendliest of all of them, and he likes to come out of the cage and sit on you and stuff. =]
+ Sunny, my goose. His mate, Stormy, died a few years ago. So he actually came up to our front yard and has refused to leave it since. Which is cool, I guess; he's a very good watchdog. xD I'm the only person he likes; he will seriously follow me everywhere I go. He attempts to come into the house when I do, he follows me when I walk to the mailbox, he follows the car when I get in, he attempts to stop the car from leaving the driveway when I'm in it -- it's insane.

Mmyep. [: Thaaat's all of the freaks in this place. Whoo! The only ones I've named are Lindsay, Dusk and Eclipse, Yoshi, Dracula, Regal and Raine, Naughty, and Sunny.

This is Snow, my albino Texas Rat Snake. I got him a few hours after he was born and raised him ever since.

As I sit in the lounge, typing this post, I am suddenly very aware of the four large aquariums and huge wire aviary that surround me. Odd, you might think, seeing as we don't have any fish or birds. Yes?

Well, no, not so much. As we are lucky enough to share our home with more than a dozen rodents; of varying sizes, species and shades, and, perhaps inappropriately, a young kitten!

Not that these residents spend much time in their respective homes, as Urd, Skuld & Verdandi are only too happy to demonstrate, below;

Urd is having a bad fur day, the tip of her tail usually ends in a large bush.

Medical corporations started importing them for testing because they are so susceptible to type two diabetes. I prefer to share my house with them.

Behaviorally, they climb like squirrels yet burrow like Gerbils; they chatter and chirrup, to you and each other; are blessed with incredible memories, never forgetting a person they've met (or what they think of them), and cursed with an intellectual affinity for manipulation. I have known some bright animals in my time (including pigs and birds) but the octodon family are a wonderful liability. :cool:

But I usually have a menagerie...I've had catfish, bass, lizards, snakes, frogs, toads, etc. I just don't have time to keep high maintenance animals anymore, although my Dad and I are trying our hardest to find a hedgehog breeder here in Texas. :p

I have a cat named Starlight. She's a mix between a Siamese and something else that I don't know. Anyways, she is black, brown, and white. She has big beautiful blue eyes. She's sooooo cute! :D My grandma found her as an orphan and she was TERRIFIED of the outdoors, then she gave her to us. Then she found her mom, and she named her Pokemon because we were obsessed with that anime Pokemon back then.....LOL. We are soon going to take Starlight over to my grandma's house so that she can meet her mom again :)

I also have a hamster named D.J.
HE'S THE CUTEST RODENT EVER, DON'T YOU DARE FORGET THAT. I went to the pet store one day, and as soon as I walked over to look at the hamsters, I saw him, and he was the only one that stood up on his back legs and looked straight at me, and the other hamsters ignored me. I knew he was the one for me right then and there!

And last but not least, my sister has a dog named Rufus.
He's annoying. Enough said.

Nope, duplicate threads are frowned upon. It says that plainly in the policies. Why would you make a second thread about a topic, if one exists already? It doesn't matter how old a thread is. There's still no good reason to make duplicate ones.

As for "bumping" threads, the key is the value of what you're posting. You shouldn't bump a thread for trivial reasons, whether it's a day or a year old, but if you have something new to share/add to to an old topic, posts of value are appreciated.

So, it's perfectly fine to post pet pics/details here, even if no one has posted recently. This thread is where they are meant to be. No need to make a duplicate thread, even if this thread seems "old" or "dead" to you.
