I'm just curious. What do you guys think of Fergy Fudgehog's fear of parties and tell your opinion and answer here.

I think he's a dork. I don't get into the pinata personalities, but I think that a party is a fun expirence for pinatas and that he's missing out.

I think so too. Fergy should go to a party. I mean it's his destiny as a pinata to go to a party and he's afraid to get bashed to pieces and end up losing all of his precious candy.

I think it's awesome! :D Fergy is kinds like that crazy uncle who gets the laugh track every time he pops in.

I think he is just fine. Not everyone follows their destiny. He wants to stay away from parties, and we should respect that. Paulie doesn't like parties either...

But Paulie is the sneaky one that always gets out of it lol. I think they are the smart ones. I don't know about you guys, but I wouldn't want to get beat in by pack a ravaging children wielding a bat either.

I find it funny that Fergy's afraid of parties, that's why he's one of my favorite characters

According to that first video of Viva Piñata, Fergy's got it from his grandpa.

Hey, Hey, Where can you view that video, first off?

Second, Fergy's fear makes him the prime target of Langstons list, because even when he is cornered by a few, or most, attempts, he gets away with it by the brim. I got just one thing to say, hes one lucky Fudgehog. HAHA!! :D

I can understand Fergy's fears. what kind of fun is getting whacked with a stick until your body breaks into pieces so the stick users can eat your insides?

YoshiAngemon

I'd be amazed if Langston ever says "I hate that Fudgehog," after failing to bring him in. I know Mike Pollock on AIM, and if he said that phrase, it would be like a double tribute to the name of Dr. Robotnik - He's the current voice, and Long John Baldry made Robotnik's phrase famous: "I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG!!" Of course, the voices of Fergy and Teddington are on TV.com.

Hey, Hey, Where can you view that video, first off?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPuLR-JYWLA - It's the Viva Piñata Casting Call, the preview video that stars Fergy Fudgehog, Franklin Fizzlybear, Hudson Horstachio, and Paulie Pretztail as the Casting Call Director. And Hudson calls Fergy a sellout.

I like it. It adds a bit of a different breath of air. While everyone wants to go to a party, he worries more about staying out of the cannonata.

Now that you mention it, I remember in an episode that Fergy worries about getting shot out of the Cannonata and fears to go near it.

I think it's completely understandable, just because something is fun for others doesn't mean you'll like it and I think it makes him more endearing.

Plus, I almost had a similar experiance to what happened to Fergy in the begining of the panatapartyphobia episode when I found out what happens in first person shooter games so I can sympathise:o

Fergy's fear of parties is what makes me like his characteristics, if I were a pinata, I would deffinitely NOT want to be beaten open and eaten

To me it's even cute. I really do sypathise, maybe because I also panic more easily then most and am in a similar situation with the same "Thing-that-makes-you-the-most-happy-also-causes-you-the-most-problems" dilema so I identify with with him. Having siad that, some of those paniced expresions are just priceless. Also it's nice that they don't make fun of him every 40secs and pair anxiety with something else such as being asthematic, they do that alot in domestic T.V. shows

i saw an episode where fergie mother comes to visit and she expects him to go to a party because of what he had been telling her

That's funny
Fergy: icing on a stick?
And then Langston get's mad and jumps on Fergy and looks like he's going to punch him in the face when the cannonata fires
Franciene: Viva Pinata!
Langston: But I was so close
Fergy: Icing on a stick!
Langston: Oh, why not?

Also
Fergy: This isn't happening! This isn't happening!
Langston: It's finally happening! It's finally happening!

yeah one of my favorite episodes and i also like the one where proffeser pester pretends to be from hollywood and the one where hudson gets captured by him and he things its just a club for horstatios

oh and i like it where they are having that party on the beach and les is trying to warn them a volcano will explode

oh and where fergie cares for all the sick pinatas and eats all the sweets i love VP lol

Poppun

Yes, those are good ones too, I really like the bit where Fergy's hiding in his well locked closet and screaming and brushing his own sneezed out candy under the door and then you see he's lasted the night by sleeping with a golf club in his mouth and then thinks that just because it's quiet out that it's safe, not realising that there's a good chance that the candies are still there and then:
Fergy: Easy Fergs, just go back in and pretend you never saw it. Yeah Right! gimme! (then later) Hey, Langston I'd love to come in today but I just can't. Yes, been in bed all day, sneezed up a storm, skiny as a rail (shakes abit)
Langston: Oh, really?
Fergy: Yeah, you should see me
Langston: I can
Fergy: Don't make me go! please! I don't want to! I'm begging you please!
I'm too cute to crak open!

(by the way did you notice the airplane reference at the begining of the mission impinatable episode)

What I don't get is how people who have never been to a party in their life don't want to go, and the people who do go and get bashed to peices want to do it again. Doesn't it hurt? Is getting shot out of the cannonata worth getting bashed to peices and having little kids eat your insides?

You're not going to beleive this but...there is sort of an equivelent to Pinatapartyphobia. Except they call it "rhabdophobia" seriously. Rhabdophobia is the fear of being beaten with a stick or of magic (using a wand), basically the fear of a potentially unplesant experiance involving sticks.

It makes SENSE to me... It's the OTHER pinatas who're crazy. ;) (Cept Paulie.)
Face it, Fergies afraid of everything... Whats scarier then being smacked by nasty greedy kids and having your guts eaten?

I think his fear of parties is way too much, though it's just for laughs. cos in the later episodes u can see langston becoming 'evil'. dats why i made up a vp ep related 2 da issue.

His rhabdophobia was brought about from his grandfather and such frightening experiences in childhood can warp anyone unless they get psychiatric help as quickly as possible.

In short: He suffers from a traumatic experience from childhood that follows him through life up to now.

Of course, we all have fears. Mine is falling down the stairs which is classified as cremnophobia and a fear of sharp objects which is aitchmophobia.

I honestly think that other characters like Langston should leave Fergie alone on the issue, we all have things we're afraid of and it's not right to force what we do like onto other people, I know it's just a kids' comedy show and such, but the thread's subject matter bought this to mind. No one ever got on Paulie's case for hating parties, though he did make fun of Fergy in some episoes which always struck me as odd (that one where they see a video clip relating to pinata parties and Paulie has a sly grin on his face in Fergy's peril , still loved the character though)

(and for the record, I like Langston Lickatoad, was just saying)

As for the character himself, I think it's hilarious and alot of the show's humour stems from his fear of parties, and I love it.

Fergy should be afraid of parties! For a while, I thought that if I was a pinata, I would be more famous then Hudson! But after the thought of getting bashed with sticks by sugar crazed kids? That's not fun! That's just plain DUMB!

I'd be afraid of the cannoñata too if I knew that it was powerful enough to shoot me across the planet or to the moon - or in one episode, into in-stellar space. :/

I've heard that his grandfather was the one who made him afraid of partys, talked him around I suppose. He should evolve into a parmadillo, more defense :D

Pretztail4eva
10-05-2008, 11:33 AM
I'd hate it if fergy became a parlmadilo. Maybe in one episode he could decide to evolve into one for party safety, but he'd have to somehow become a fudgehog again because otherwise it would ruin him. Dont ask me why, but I find that a cowardly fudgehog is alot funnier than a cowardly anything else.

Anyway, I like his and paulies fear of partys, makes it more interesting to watch.

Too bad Fergy can't become a REAL Hedgehog, thanks to the Chaos Emerald of Life. REAL Hedgehogs don't get chased by Lickatoads - They get chased by Dr. Eggman!! And they don't get bashed by Kids, because THEY bash Eggman's Robots into pieces! You know what Sonic the Hedgehog says: YOU'RE TOO SLOOWW!!!

Wasn't there a Viva Pinata clip somewhere online saying that "Some content may not be appropriate for young viewers" (or something to that effect) with a clip of a Fudgehog in a corner scared to death of a suspicious shadow with a stick?

Fergy? O.o

Understandable, given that he's afraid of everything else.

Telephoñy

I think it's all psychological (in his head); when the other piñatas return to Piñata Central (aka. "Party Central"; albiet rather infrequently), they can't wait to be repaired, raise their candiosity (paying a visit to the "top-off bin" if necessary), and go right to another party where they'll get hung from the ceiling and get bashed open by sugar-crazed children weilding sticks or baseball bats.

Fergy isn't actually afraid of the cannoñata itself (as evidenced in the episode "Les the Jet Setter"), but of where the cannoñata will send him - to a fabulous party of course.
Like I said, I think it's all in his head. :/

Fergy1122

Earlier tonight, I saw another reason for Fergy to be afraid of where the cannonotta will send him.

I was watching the show "The Detonators" which is about people who implode buildings for a living. During one part of tonight's episode, they were demonstrating the wires used for the explosives by blowing up two pinatas.

And Fergy thinks sticks are bad.

if you think he's a wimp, you are so very wrong. Who would LIKE to be whacked with a bat and have their body ripped apart, and have kids eat their insides, then be put back together and do it again for a living?!! jeez.... i don't think it sounds fun....

Trinity Galagoogoo

Fergy's fear of parties is VERY understandable. Getting shot around the world in a high-powered cannon then beaten with sticks by kids until you break open doesn't sound very fun. Then again, we're not pinatas, so maybe the experience feels different for them.

Still, I think he should over his fears and try a party. I mean, what has he got to lose? It's not like he'll die or anything.

In the episode "Les the Jet Setter", Fergy *PRETENDED* to go to parties; though he didn't actually go to one.
When he returned from the "party", he would pull a small amont of paper from his body and brag to the other piñatas about how "banged up" he was, etc.
