RUMOR: Viva Piñata Racing

There have been unsubstantiated rumors of a new Xbox 360 game from Rare titled Viva Piñata Racing (http://pinataisland.info/index.php?title=Viva_Pi%C3%B1ata_Racing).

It is believed to be based on Donkey Kong Racing which was a canceled video game for the Nintendo GameCube. Presumably that was to be the sequel to Diddy Kong Racing, but Microsoft's buyout of Rare in 2002 rendered the game vaporware.

i think i would really be disappointed of a vp racing game... thats a nice idea,... but first i will get vp 2, 3, 4 and 5!

and it needs much time to make a game work, so i think we need to wait enougth time for the second vp,... and i wouldn´t get a racing game before i get a second original vp.

There really isn't any Mario Kart clone on the 360 yet... so I'd be happy to have a Mario Kart (or Diddy Kong Racing) clone.

I usually hate racing games, but I only liked Mario Kart, but still....Not even a Mario Kart with Pinatas is better then a VP 2

It would be pretty cool... but I would say 4 legged pinatas only, with something riding them. So an example team would be a Horstachio with a Galagoogoo on its back...

He brings up a good point. They'd have to find a good way to even out all of the pinata speeds without turning to the cliched MarioKarts.

Why not give them all jet-powered shoes and scooters?

Oh, and the Elephanilla needs a magic carpet, and will award you with a balloon when you complete a race.

I remember playing Chocobo Racing when I was younger. That Ultima level was like the hardest thing ever! Especially with all of those Thieves stealing my stuff ! :evil:

Maybe all of the pinatas, or your characters, could all ride the same type of pinata. For example, they could all ride Horstacios on land, Eaglairs in flyign races, and Chippos in water races.

Using the character you just unlocked makes the races easier(in the case of Ultima, use Behemoth)

I remember the stage with White Mage being a pain as Chocobo, and I switched to Black Mage and beat it a lap ahead of everyone else.

The downside is that you don't get as many points for beefing up your own racer at the end. I think the only way to get all 100 points was beating every race with Chocobo without losing.

Well, if any of you have played Chocobo Racing, you'll see all kinds of vehicles. Scooters, Rocket-propelled skates, Magic Carpets, Clouds, Tanks, and even Wings.

Elephanilla = Magic Carpet. Before you disagree, remember Diddy Kong Racing? When Taj gives you the balloon after a stage? HE has a Magic Carpet, hence the reference. :)
