Todays the Kentucky Derby! Anyone else going to watch it? I'm not sure who I want to win but I think its going to be a good race this year, and it seems like its going to be a gorgeous sunny day! Well at least here where I live lol.

Hopefully all goes well this time. I'll be thinking of Barbaro all day.

Who are you rooting for?

I don't think I'm going to watch. I'm still very sad about Barbaro. If I do watch, my Barbaro Beanie Baby will be with me.

I think BArbaro is the horse who hurt its leg and ppl kept it alive for awhile but then they put it down. I think this is right?

Yea thats pretty much the story. He was a terrific horse! Its a shame that he had to be put down, but it was for the best. Now we have hope in his new little brother.

I'm sorry for not being on earlier yesterday, ~*FirefliesAbright*~. I definitely would have responded, but I had a busy day with both Spiderman 3 and a big boxing match (http://sports.yahoo.com/box/news;_ylt=AkkaZ7s9rRqTZP05lxy2dmk5nYcB?slug=ap-delahoya-mayweather&prov=ap&type=lgns) - the Kentucky Derby fell on a packed Saturday, it seems.

In case anyone's wondering, the winner was Street Sense (http://sports.yahoo.com/rah/news;_ylt=Ar1Hai1wvrIQRgKHZYbpnS4X47kF?slug=ap-kentuckyderby&prov=ap&type=lgns), a 2-year old colt (Curlin finished third and Nobizlikeshowbiz 10th).

Here's a picture of the winning jockey, Calvin Borel, and his victorious mount.

Update: ESPN.com has video (http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/horse/triplecrown07/index) of the Kentucky Derby race.
