So, we have a confirmation that Microsoft is going to keep building on the Viva Pinata franchise, and we also know that, if that franchise goes handheld, it will likely go DS. It seems many things must fall into place before this dream comes true, but it is a very distinct possibility.

first of all it says Viva Pinata if anything will be going to the DS not Wii...

and I don't know If I'm crazy about this either...

VP will never, ever come out on the Wii because it is in direct competition with the Xbox
360.

As you can see...

From Wired (http://blog.wired.com/games/2007/09/egm-rumors-viva.html):
Big rumors from this month's new issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly. Apparently Microsoft isn't satisfied with putting their first-party, Rare-developed franchise Viva Pinata on the Nintendo DS: they'd just like to concede the race entirely and make a Wii version. If this happens I will really not know what to think.

According to 1UP (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3163164) it sounds like they're talking about Party Animals instead:
there's the latest batch of Quartermann rumors -- there's some tasty bits this month. With Viva Pinata already heading to the Nintendo DS and the continued success of mini-game compilations on Wii, doesn't it make sense Viva Pinata: Party Animals should show up on Wii? Q seems to think so, but it doesn't seem like it'll be hitting day-an-date this Fall.

Something tells me this requires a generous helping of sodium chloride.

Jim, when you're done with it, pass the salt this way.

i dont get it?

If something is to be taken with a grain of salt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grain_of_salt), it means that a measure of healthy skepticism should be applied regarding a claim.

With all this news on VP: PP I was just wondering why Rare is willing to make a DS game but won't make a Wii game. Yeah I know they no longer work for Nintendo, but I think it would be great for something like a VP: Wii. Even if it didn't have online stuff I would still love it.

Maybe Rare can try it out for themselves and see if they like how it works. As I saw a video where a guy put in a connection and got the Wii remote to work on the PC and he was playing Viva Pinata on it. If they do that, they can see what it feels like and MAYBE make one for the Wii. And I don't care what kind of game it would be, remake or new, just I want VP on WII.

I wouldn't be overly-joyed if the VP series went to the Wii, mainly because I don't have a Wii but VP is supposed to be exclusive to Xbox (apart from VP:PP which I can make an exception for because I actually have a DS :p ).

Just because you don't have the system dosen't mean they don't have to make it. A lot of people don't have 360 and are dissapointed of all the 360 only VP games. So they have to put it on different systems now and then.

Yeah but on the wii the graphics would not be nearly as good as they are on the 360

You don't seem very certain. When are we going to have people working for businesses that actually give us a definitive answer?

Someday.
