Just wondering :D
Cause I know that the original mods were transferred over here, and then I thought it was those who had joined before the official swith, but I just noticed that FeralKitty was a moderator as well now, and he just joined on March 1 with the majority of us.
And I was just kind of...confused?
:D Thanks!

Most of the mods are the same, which is good--especially FeralKitty's return.
And we have a few new mods as well: Spartan, a good friend of mine, and LRB, another friend.
I haven't any idea of how the mods were selected. I guess that the mods were notified a month ago of the switch, and were busy getting things ready.

Probably activity or mods suggested by Confetti to jim before she left.

You must have joined VPF after I left. I was one of the original mods there.

:S
Sorry, I thought I had already replied to this, but I guess I forgot to actually hit "Submit."
What I had typed up was that I had forgotten that you were a mod before, and I joined just a few days after you had left.

I hope you haven't taken it personally, IZ, that I was named mod.
You're a friend of mine, and it would seem silly to be angry if your friends are promoted. You should be happy for them, not somewhat displeased.

^ That's right! Me and Ryan were talking all day before Ryan was chosen to be mod. Then he told me that me might get to be a mod, and he did! Yay Ryan!

I didn't think that IZ was taking it personally at all. Unless he said something to you in PM or something? I just thought he was simply stating it. :?

I guess I am the newest newbie MOD here, but I was invited by Jim to assist here. I am truly honored to be here, and although I have not be doing much moderating, I have been working hard to promote traffic to this site and to raise the awareness of the resources being offered here.
I am glad that I joined PIF, even if I am not a MOD, I would find happiness here. Thank you all for making this forum great!

So far, it seems that Jim chose three MODs because of things they had done not related to Moderating, two or so who had already quit, a handful of the original MODs, and a few new ones.

Confetti may be back one day. If it weren't for Feral we wouldn't be here right now. The ones that are not moderating related don't make bad mods and do alot of services here to the community. The guys like me just pick up the slack. I'm not saying "I'm a mod so we're perfect", but excuse me if I misinterpret you, but I don't see what was wrong with the selection. Or were you just stating facts and didn't mean anything?

I just don't believe that some people should have been chosen for Mod because of actions they did not related to Moderating-skills whatsoever. There have been a couple so far.

I take it you mean Lrb, I think he deserved it and he is doing a good job but thats my opinion. I'm guessing you mean lrb not because he is a bad mod but because you have had previous conflicts.

You obviously have a right disagree with Jim's selection, but ultimately he picked us for a reason, and I hope that the community as a whole supports his decisions and for us, the newer MODs, we will try our best to do a good job here, but that never guarantees that everyone will like us, no matter what good we do.

TIZ, may I ask who you think would have been a better choice for being moderators? :) Not trying to start any conflicts by asking this, so if you want you can just not tell me or PM me :D

DragonacheKing99 it was aimed at LRB and GGD.
TIZ they may have not been picked for there moderating skills but they all play important roles. You don't have to agree with this decision but that's the answer.

LRB and Gundam are doing excellent jobs as mods so far.
LRB may not be as active as he once was, but when he is on he is a helluva good moderator.
And I don't think it matters why Gundam was chosen, because he is a kickass moderator now, so as long as he is doing his job the way he is, then he is doing fine.

I was refering to LRB, GGD, and Ryan44.
LRB was only picked for being a Mod because he made the WCF, not because Jim thought he'd be a great Mod.
GGD was either picked for the WCA, his picture taking, or both.
Ryan44 was picked because he was the one who made the original post at the PIF about the RP.

Yes, Ryan44, I know that you are going to come in here saying "I don't think that this should ruin our friendship." However, that is not what I am referring to. We are still friends, I just think Jim needs a new way of picking Moderators.

They were all chosen because I thought they would make great Moderators. I certainly hope that you are not implying that you should have been considered for the position after you vandalized the wiki and posted threads insulting me personally.

While I cannot comment on Jim's behalf for LRB as we were both invited individually while Jim was working hard to prepare this site.
As for Ryan44, Jim's decision was not made alone, but with the rest of us MODs in mind. It was a team decision to invite him as a MOD and we welcomed him with open arms because Ryan44 has demonstrated himself based on his entire history here with us that he is a responsible and mature person and would definitely do a great job for this community, not only as a MOD that would be primarily responsible to cover the RP posts, but also as a good backup for all of us in case of need.
As MODs, we all have the powers and obligations to monitor this entire site, but it can be very time-consuming for all of us, therefore, Jim wanted to make sure we have enough staff to cover the different timezones and possible interest areas. Some of the MODs are more general in terms of which areas they would cover, but others like myself, tend to focus in certain areas more often than some others most of the time.
As for myself, I was invited in early FEB, and WCA is only about one week old ... just as an FYI, and I ran that idea about creating the WCA before the MOD team before Jim approved it as a forum on the site. Although it was cool that I have been trusted by many owners to take pictures for their WCs and Twins, I don't think that was reason enough to be offered the MOD position. If I was the site admin, I would not have picked myself for just that reason. I would hope that Jim picked me because I have earned a good level of trust with this community and the XBOX VP community and that is valuable for me as a MOD, that I can be trusted and respected. Ever since I started playing VP and started to browse the XBOX and VPF forums, I have always tried to help others with the game and offer guidance whenever possible. I have been helping out in the XBOX forums for a while now, since I joined, and the VP forum was not the only, the first, or the last forum that I will be offering my help in.
I sincerely believe that Jim's decisions were based on reputation and trust. I look for the same qualities with the WCA Agents as well, as an example. I stated in one of my posts today that WCA Agent applicants should consider their entire history here and in the XBOX forum as their resume, because Actions speak louder than Words. Users know who they can trust and who they cannot count on, and the MODs know that as well, and who you are inside shows thru your actions and words in this forum and others.
I don't know if this answers or addresses your concerns, but I do hope that it would provide some insights for you and anyone else that might be questioning this same issue. Sometimes it matters not what you have done, but what you have shown you can do.
