I hope not.
I think this forum has more capable owners than VPF had in VPF's last days, so I'm optimistic about PIF's future.
And the slow start to PIF will soon give way, once more VPF members hear about PIF.

This shouldn't be in this section.
It should be in the Garden.
And as long as we have an active administrator, then this won't die.

Why would we start a new thread when this could just get moved by a moderator?

The good news is more mods, a fresh start, and some new members...
Bad news is alot of the solid members of the community have moved on to other things, but i still think this forum should do better than the other.

The irony of what I said actually happened:
Confetti got Admin then left.
The internet can be weird.

My other forum has about 30 active members, me being one of them. All we do is talk football, and we never get tired. So no, this won't die anytime soon.

Hmm, I hope not, but with our combined efforts we can keep it alive.

Well it wasn't that simple. She never got her admin powers, meaning that she couldn't do anything "admin-like" except for mass move topics.

If you let us know what you don't like then we can look into fixing it. We're listening and constructive criticism is always appreciated.

I agree with Jim, it's too early to tell if you don't like this forum compared to the old one.
I believe we should at least allow the Jim and others time to fix the problems. It's natural that a forum in its infancy will have some things that need improving
We need to be patient. Give PIF time and it will be as good as VPF.

I think that it is good and bad that we made a new forum.
Pros:
The inactive members are gone
We are linked to the wiki
Cons:
Some members didn't join up when we made the switch
What did you like more about VPF then PIF Dingo?

See, but with the "some members didn't join up when we made the switch," I am not sorry for that. It wasn't like they had just tried to be civil on the VPF. They just keep flooding it with crap, yelling on how its ok to swear and all of this stuff because no mods would come back.
If it weren't for that, I would consider it a con, but they were just acting immature.
(And I don't mean everyone, there are about 2 that come to mind)

Which two come to mind, Tauron?
P.S. Send me a PM if you're not comfortable with posting the names.

Well, as I said "The other forum is like a computer, this one is like a calculator." It just isn't as cool, the other one had games... and there was always something to do. And, I don't like change, and compared to what I've seen, the other place was like... modern, new, shiny, different from every forum I had seen. This one is just, another forum I go to.

I liked the "Quick Post" option on the VPF. I wish we still had that. I wish we could have a ShoutBox too; that's one of the reasons why I like the VT.

What I would like is to be able to see what thread the newest post was in.

I think it will get a lot better. Give it some time and it'll be almost like the old VPF

Change can be difficult, but it's a necessity born out of many elements, especially with something as fickle as internet forums. For those of you lamenting the good ol days, I humbly suggest you hang in there, give this new home some room to grow and time to find it's place, it's pace, and it's footing. At the most, if you decide to leave " for good", you can say the only thing you forfeited was a small amont of your time and hopefully a little of your effort.

The other forums died for a very sad reason, namely that the owners didn't give a damn. Here you can guarantee that Jimmcq and the others do care about it and the users who inhabit it.
I think it's safe to say that hopefully lessons were learned from VPF and that we won't make the same mistakes again.
PinataIsland.info won't die, it will only get stronger.
