My Xbox is flashing red! I set it up through the Tv, and I bought I last Year, can any one help? My dad's doing every thing to help, even leaving it on so it can fix itself! :(

I think you mean the "Red Ring of Death".
Here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Ring_of_Death#General_hardware_failure), i'm not sure if it will help much, but, who knows?

You need to count how many of the lights are red. Each number, 1, 2, 3 or 4 indicates a different issue. Then go to www.xbox.com (http://www.xbox.com) and search for 'red light'. You'll then find lots of links that explain each error. Not every red light error is the so called RROD.

If it's 4 lights (the complete ring) then your AV cable connection isn't working. Turn the console off and disconnect and then reconnect the AV cable at both the console and TV ends. I hope that helps,

Rashberry's provided a good link; check it out. The first time I had gotten the "Red Ring of Death" it was actually an overheating issue. I'm hoping it's not the RROD for you; both my Xboxes had died a little while ago and I only recently have had them returned. :/

I now have the RROD too! So anying, and its right before Christmas! Guess Banjo 3 will have to wait.

I have 3 rings. Heating I think. We are using a cooling unit, but to no avail. I watched a vid online of how to fix it my taking apart the console and fixing the GPU but my dad wants to use the warinty instead.

At least he says that we will get an elite back and we will not lose data because you can take off the Harddrive and the Memory card.
The worst part is it happened right before getting a Sars on TIP!

ive never had rrod but my cousin did for the original xbox it just reset his time to 00:00 and deleted some save files but not like it was too troubling. sometimes you get it off easy but sometimes your not so lucky

I remember the RRoD, oh geez, two months of no Xbox360, those were a sad, sad two months... Though I didn't send it in to Microsoft untill the near last half of the second month, they worked pretty fast on it, got it back within a week! ^^

Thanks Tobias! Thats good news!

Im pretty sure one the 360 the Rrod dosnt delete files, the harddrive and memory disk are safe with us. Maybe they will send us back a newer console!

U may have solved this now but just incase not, this happened to my sons a few weeks b4 xmas, even tho it was 2 wks old and not registered microsoft took all the details over the phone registered it and within two days a courier came to pick it up, they then get sent to germany, we were told it would get mended but they did infact send a new one so that is now under guarentee again. someone told my son they send out new ones as it is cheaper than repairing them.:)
