RUMOR: Will there be another pinata game [Archive]

Well I wouldn't be against another game that uses the TV show characters, but instead of a party game maybe more along the lines of just walking about the Island doing things for other pinatas and collecting stuff.

or maybe have to fight sour pinatas. then at the end you could have a boss battle with Dastardos or Pester. (not like bloody gory stuff just like biting or scratching and then when you kill it it explodes into a pile of candy like they do now.) i think that would be cool.

No, an expantion pack would be fine, but not a new game. They just released new holiday toys and items in the shop (if you have the camera) so they could just add new species and stuff as time goes on.

They better not make any more updates for TIP not everyone has a vision camera and Xbox Live you know. So hopefully in the next two years we might get a new one. Hopefully with new species, plants and other fun things.

I love the two gardening viva pinata games (classic, TIP) but yeah, Party Animals doesn't look like a very good game. I haven't played it but it doesn't sound or look good. Not the best idea for a game.

There WON'T be another Viva Pinata, as far as I know, seeing as how the VP Games have sold very little worldwide. Unless Rare is VERY fan-oriented, there will never be another,

I'm pretty sure that a new Viva Pinata: Party Animals will not come to the PS3 or PSP because even though Party Animals is made by Krome Studios rather than Rare, the Viva Pinata range is attached and licensed under the Microsoft company (at least I think).

Like I said on another thread though, I think a new Party Animals game will not be made considering the first game was considered an epic failure concerning professional reviews and on number of copies sold.

I wouldn't rule out having another Pinata game, but seeing how much time Rare has put in for the first two... I think it would be more likely that they have a TiP expansion pack or continue on with the PV Card program. I mean, on the Wiki (http://www.pinataisland.info/viva/Concept_art), there are pictures of Platypus (obtained by romancing a Quackberry and Sweetooth) and Shark (first sour, then tamed) pinatas that aren't in the current game. I would love those additions; I've always - for some odd reason - always wanted a shark in the garden (don't ask)...

if they were to make another (and i know they will) they should, somehow make an aquatic version. i think that would be pretty cool. it could work out the same way with soures and all that, but the challenge will be foodwise. you know like in the other versions with the apple seed, chili seed, etc. i doubt an aquatic version could be made but it would be agian be pretty cool to see.

Getting the platypus and shark additionally more pinatas, plants extras.

Making another game would be too much i think. Not with the little ideas at the moment.

I've always wondered how they could put the shark in the game without resulting in a mess of glitches.

If they made an expansion pack, they would have to fix it to where you'd earn the shark as a prize or something, cause having a shark visit your garden, you'd HAVE to have some sort of water on the perimeter of your garden, since the shark couldn't enter by land. Also the shark would have very limited space to move about in you garden if you had small ponds everywhere, rather than one big mass of water.

As cool as the shark is, it would be the only truly aquatic animal in the game, and because of that, have severe limitations to what it could do, how it would move, and how it interacted with other pinatas.

BUT: there still could be a way to make the shark fit in well. If they made an expansion pack, they could make a new garden area choice. Both games have a single garden area- a grassland- that you can grow what you want and have whatever terrain, but you can't change the elevation, something that I've heard many people ask for if there was another game. What if in the expansion pack, each time you chose to make a new garden, you could choose the type of garden? There could be the normal one- the grassland, and then there could be two new ones, underwater and cliffs. The two new types of garden could have a few new pinatas as well as the old ones (In the underwater, there could be a shark, manta-ray, and platapus and such, as well as the original aquatics like the crustaceon and newtgat. And the cliffs could have new pinatas like goats and llamas, and well as original cliff-dwelling animals like the goobaa, buzzenge, and eaglair.) They could also introduce new plants, and objects.

It's a very rough idea, and I'm not sure how it would work, but I thought it was sorta cool.

Here are some ideas for the cliff garden:

Animals: Cougar, Llama, Mountain Goat, Snow Leopard, Pika, Coyote, Porcupine(Sour), Bobcat, Wolverine(Sour), Weasel, and Woodpecker.

Plants: Juniper Tree, Mable Tree(Produces Syrup), Fairy Duster Flower, Dahlia Flower, Mint, Yucca, and Sumac(Weed).

In the concept art, it shows a picture of a platypus pinata and a hammerhead shark. I don't know about a shark, but the platypus seems like a good idea. Im thinking in the next game they should do more of two pinata species mating to make one rare species.
Example: Sweetooth + Quakberry= Platypus Pinata
Swanana + Rashberry= Pigxie
Eaglair + Rario= Griffon Pinata

I hope beyond hope that Rare creates more Viva Pinata stuff.

I'd love to see Rare release Viva Pinata avatar pets or let us take a pinata from our game and use it has our avatar pet for like 240 points. I won't lie...I'd pay a heck of a lot more.

I'd like to see a Viva Pinata game that wasn't garden based. Something like Viva Pinata: Under the Sea. Where we get all new water plants. Most of the pinatas would be new fish species, starfish, sea lions, whales, dolphins. Instead of getting a bigger garden, you'd get a deeper ocean with rarer pinatas like the mysterious Loch Ness monster. ;)

And finally...my most anticipated game of 2010 isn't for the 360; it's for the Playstation 3. But Sony has a game coming out called EyePet and I got a chance to play it at PAX. Its a virtual pet where you use Sony's camera to pet it, wash it and more. What I would give for Rare to make an interactive Viva Pinata game where I could use Project Natal and actually physically interact with a pinata.

well if their is a new game you should be able to uncorupt dastardos(effect doc patch is faster) but if he is uncorupted pester comes to the garden for sick pinatas.

We have had the original VP, the original for PC, Pocket Paradise, Party Animals, and TIP.

I don't think rare has said much about a third VP, except that it will not be Downloadable Content. (if they make one.)

BIGsheep has said that they are not currently planning on making a new one right now. More or less, I think they are taking a break from pinatas and working on other things...

That's the fun part. Starting over is what makes the game fun. I am a level 196 on my one HDD. So I stuck on one of my other HDD and started a save on there. Being back at level 1 and going again made me enjoy the game more. I mean when your level 196 and there is nothing else to really accomplish, you just go to other people gardens online and help them. Or if your like me you just give them some CC to have fun with. I've Given out probably well over 5 billion CC to people just getting started in this game.

That's the fun part. Starting over is what makes the game fun. I am a level 196 on my one HDD. So I stuck on one of my other HDD and started a save on there. I totally agree with the above. I have been maxed out for a LONG time now for my awards and the only thing left for me to do is help others get all the awards and give them monies. That can get boring after a while. I am just waiting for an excuse to start over. So...I can't wait until they make another one...:D

If you ask me i think the rpg dont really need a goal (If you take that in the right way) It should never stop...Since game that stops well it will get beaten so quick...But to say the truth vp is one of the games that can take awhile.

BIGsheep actually asked some fellow gardeners of mine on a different site a question like this. He asked if we liked the idea of being able to use our avatars as the "gardener" of our garden. If they can do that, I'd rather have customizable Pinatas. Something rare and special, where you can create the color and patterns on your pinata. It could be something special, awarded to gardeners the way Famous Pinata's are given, or just be very expensive a rare, like the original Wildcards.

I'm still highly involved in TIP. I haven't rushed to complete everything but i'm not willing to let someone who was come in and finish the game for me, I'll get it done, im just sitting back and enjoying the ride as it were, As for a new game, it wouldn't stop me playing TIP in the same way TIP hasn't stopped me playing the original, but i'm all for a 3rd garden based game.

This time, YOU are the piñata. You start off as a whirlm and as the computer attracts a new species, YOU become that species. Then after the computer has found all the piñata
you can choose what piñata you are. I simply just love the Idea of being a piñata!

But what would you do when you're the pinata? :| Viva Pinata is built on a god game engine where you control and do everything. If you let the computer control the game, there is not much you can do, if you follow VP's formula of just attracting more and more pinatas. You could crawl around, eat some plants, fight some pinatas, romance, etc. The only way I could see a "you are the pinata" game working would be if you were tasked with a lot of mini-games, or something. Something to do while the computer attracts new pinatas to the garden.

If they do make a new viva pinata game, they should bring back the OLD wildcard pinata system. Seriously, I barely have an hour logged onto the newest VP because the new wildcard system was such a let down.
I think a balance needs to be struck - yes, the system in TIP is stupidly easy, but in VP1 it was just a little to obscure. I only evrr had one through normal play, at random. I think collecting all the hearts should give you a reasonable chance at a wildcard, not a definitive option.

but they really need another game

You've made about 20 posts now in a bunch of threads, repeating that Rare needs to make a new game. I think they heard you, so please cool it with pointless bumps (spam).
