I've been having occaional issues with Viva Piņata:TIP locking up.
Mostly it does it when you quit the game to go back to the dashboard which is just an inconvienience. However, sometimes it does it in the game which last week resulted in the corruption of my daughters profile, meaning she lost everything (including my twin wildcard Roarios :( that she had on "loan") and had to start again (See separate thread HERE (http://pinataisland.info/forum/showthread.php?t=12692&page=2)).
Since NXE arrived it seems to do it more frequently, although it could be just me scrutinsing the system after the update.
Anyway I'm wondering if anyone else has similar experiences or if my (second) Xbox is getting ready to do a RROD and I should return it to microsoft, though knowing my luck it will hang on for a bit and die on Christmas day!

I never have any of these problems. My TIP works 100% normally. Maybe since rare are English they made all the games sold in England non-corrupted? Just a thought:D
But anyone who has lost all their hard work has my sympothies.

^ Conspiracy theory.
Joke, I doubt Rare would purposely make copies of the game uncorrupted for one country. They'd lose business, and money. Oo
This sure sounds wierd though. How long would you have been playing when it happens?

There have been other occurances of corruption when saving and quitting but the profile is generally intact.
As for your own game. When you say quitting back to the dash, is that when you pull up the guide and return through there? Are you at the frontend at that point?

It was the settings file that was corrupted. The game refused to load anything on her save. I ended up backing it up to a memory card and creating a new one, but it would not let me access any of her exisiting gardens or photos so she started again.
Mostly when the game locks up it's when quitting to the dashboard, when you confirm that it's OK to go to the dashboard and any unsaved progress will be lost. This is just an incovenience, but occsionally it locks up in-game which is what happened when the save was corrupted, although I was not there so I can't confirm if it was while saving and quitting I'm afraid. I think I still have the corrupt save on the memory card if it's any use for debugging?
She took it well, so I grapped the Live Vision Camera and scanned her a load of Pinatas to get her going again. I also showed her how to putt sweets and she loved that, especially after she unlocked the golf sweets! She's still mad about Bispotti's and almost every Pinata she names has Bispotti in it's name!
Anyway I'd just like to take this oppotunity to thank you and the Viva Pinata team for the excellent games you've produced. I have whiled away many an hour on my own and with my daughter.

Thank you for your kind words. I feel even worse now about the corruption :)
As it stands there wouldn't be anything we can get from the savegame due to the securities wrapped around each save but if there is anything I can send you in a crate to help your daughter get back on track don't hesitate to let me know.

Well the obvious thing that springs to mind is a "Famous" Bispotti in Pink if such a thing exisits?
That would make her day! :o :p

What exactly does NXE stand for? And updates cause RROD? I just got my 360 two days ago, so I don't know all the terminology. When I put in TiP, it told me I had to update to play....And mine did freeze one time and I was scared, I really don't want to start over.....*mutters*...stupid tutorials, I know how to do that.....
A microsoft employee told me that each light means something (the ring is not completely connected) and when someone tells them they have red rings they ask how many. Does this mean that there is more than one type of RROD, or is the RROD the worst type? I know this because when I was setting mine up, it didn't have green rings, no by golly it had friggin red ones! And here I am, on my birthday, thinking "Ohhhh craaap...if this is how it's going to be, getting the RROD before I even play a flippin' game, I'm not even bothering with another one!" But all that I had to do was replug the power supply. Dunno what the prob was though. Is RROD fixable?

What exactly does NXE stand for?
New xBox Experience - this is the recent change of the xBox user interface from the old blade based system to the new one with avatars. It's a complete rewrite of the xBox user interface.
And updates cause RROD?
Not to me, just occasional lockups of the console, having said that it did it before, which probably means there is an issue with my xbox.
RROD typically means the three red lights error. Anyone getting this error should return their console to microsoft for repair (unless they have opened it up to mod it as this voids any warranty). Microsoft warrany an xBox for three years for this fault only.

I'd just like to say thanks again to BIGsheep, today we also got a Bispotti and a Gooba.
Does anyone know if you make a famous pinata into a variant if it still has it's "famous" property?
Merry christmas to you BIGsheep ... and everyone here!

Aye, you can variant it and breed it freely. Just don't evolve it (obviously you're ok with a Bispotti and Goobaa) otherwise you'll lose the famounessicity...ness.
And happy christmas to you and your family, too :)

Cool, the Bispotti will be pink before you know it!

Is that the official term? :)

The only reason I don't play it in Scrabble is because I don't have enough letters.
