You certainly may make friends, but you might find the trading part hard. Pocket Paradise does not support trading around the world(This is called Wi-Fi) so the only way to trade is locally. If you want to know which games can use Wi-Fi than look at the packaging the game came in, if it is compatible then there should be a blue circle with the word 'Wi-Fi' in it.

Once again, RedKittyFloss is right, on both the DS & Wii there's a thing called Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection that let's you play with people around the world. If you want to know a certain game does that, see if the box has a blue circle at the side and in it, it says Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Unfortunatly, you can only trade with people beside you in this game. Sorry, I was mad too.
