i got the ring this morning however turned of the xbox gave it a rest for an hour turned it back on and its going stong again i hope it was a one off but if it keeps on happening thank god theres a price crash currently in australia :) maybe time to update to an elite

Microsoft covers all 360's for the RROD for 3 years. Nothing to pay to get it fixed and you usually get a brand new console returned. Just remember not to send it off with the HDD, MC, any gamers or accessories as you won't get them back.

IIRC, the RROD is caused from overheating and the heatsink paste disintegrating into nothingness. If you search youtube you can find temporary fixes (usually the towel trick). It will put you on for abit until you get a new one or Microsoft sort it out.

yes we are going to send it back to get it fixed but they said that maybe a week or two.

I suppose it depend's where you live, myself and my friend sent ours off and had them back just over a week but was told it can take anything upto one month
