I've had the game for a few days, level 6 as of right now. But I find it hard to level up without just getting variants or just breeding for hours on end. Are there faster ways to level up?

Growing plants to maturity (with fertilizer) also helps to earn awards and experience towards gaining another level. Otherwise, it's mostly just attracting (or evolving) new species, and getting their variant and master romancer awards.

I am also finding it really hard to level up, I am level 5 and have used fertilizer on all the plants that i can grow at the moment. I have got all of the pinata awards for the Whirlm, Syrupent, Bunnycomb, Mousemallow, Sparrowmint and Shellybean but can not seem to be able to level up :(.

Try filling your pinatas' candiosity to maximum, then sending them to parties.

Wrong game, that advice applies to Trouble in Paradise, but not Pocket Paradise.
You're going to need to get all those awards for more than just the 6 species you mentioned. Check your journal, and fill out all of those awards for EVERY species you ever seen in the game.

Keep in mind that there are only 10 levels in the game, so it's going to take long in general to level up. I only have the original 360 game, so that's all I have to compare it to, but leveling up in this game is very slow compared to that one since there are less levels but more flower petals to turn blue per level.
Just check all of the pinatas and any awards you're missing and work on those. Don't forget to evolve pinatas that can be evolved - Syrupent, Sparrowmint, etc. Then get the awards for the evolved forms of those too.
The encyclopedia will tell you every requirement except for what you need to do to evolve pinatas. The encyclopedia is so much more helpful than the original 360 game since it tells you up front instead of it being like:
* requirement A
* ??? (fulfill requirement A to learn requirement B)
* ??? (fulfill requirement B to get C)
So even if the information isn't up on the wiki here, check your in-game encyclopedia. It'll help immensely for any pinata that's made an appearance in your garden. It'll even tell you how to attract pinatas you haven't seen if it's part of any requirement for another pinata (just tap the icon of the pinata that hasn't appeared yet)... it just doesn't show appear/resident requirements for pinatas that you have to evolve to get.
Hope that helps!

Oops, I usually notice what forum a thread is in... :o

Nice, I didn't know that. I'll have to keep that in mind. :)
I can assure you Level 5 is the Level you will spend the most time at ;). I started a new garden yesterday and it felt like reaching Level 5 in no time, but now it really takes a long time ..........so keep on going ! ;)

yeah it's reallllllllllllllllllllly hard to level up in this game. i think ive done just about all the variants i could od with everything i had. but you can't get very many pinatas due to the fact that each level only unlocks 3 of them. but i noticed that fertilizer, variants and romancing help a little. but it takes a long time to level up
Yeah, and unlocking those secret species that donīt appear just like that -like the Redhott - helps a lot , too.
