Ok, basically I saw that to get a sarsgorilla just to visit I needed a baby bonboon. Now how this possible when a baby goes into the cocoon like 5 minutes after its hatched. Does this mean I have to rely on the sarsgorilla appearing when I have a baby bonboon and hope it eats 6 bannanas, 4 coconut macaroons and 4 jars of peanut butter before it goes into the cocoon? Any help?

Yes and no, he must ENTER the garden while you have a baby bonboon, but once hes in, that bonboon could die for all he cares, visit requirements=ONLY for getting him in, not keeping him there.

So say the sarsgorilla came in while I had a baby bonboon in my garden then my baby bonboon went into its cocoon and became an adult and I couldn't meet all the sarsgorilla's resident requirements in time before it left the garden, the next time the sarsgorilla appears I will not need a new baby bonboon or do I need to get another baby bonboon for it to come in again? (Sorry I make it sound so complicated.)

You will need another baby bonboon, everytime he leaves, in order for him to enter again you must fill every visit requirement. At least this isnt as annoying as a non-sour limeoceros resident requirements, eat 3 weed seeds!!! those suckers plant themselves in like 3 seconds!

can't you stop it from becoming a full grown by breaking the cacoon as soon as it goes into it?

Not to hi-jack the thread but place the weed seeds on pavement.

No you can't. Thats what makes this requirement so "tedious".

For a little bit of skullduggery, I had a baby bonboon packed in a crate ready for when the Sarsgorilla showed his face. In the meantime, just kept on breeding them so I'd have a ready supply.

I did something similar to what BIGsheep did, execpt I used eggs, and as soon as a baby went into its cocoon, I had a cluckles hatch another. This was the hardest one to reside, in my opinion.

Crate up the baby or egg and send it to yourself, when the sasgorilla comes along grab the crate and unpack it... job done.

I want a sarsgorilla and i have its visit reuirements (and Resident requirements waiting to be eaten) but he will just walk to the edge of the garden and the walk around outside of my garden and then he'll go back into the mountains. Does anyone have any tips on how to make him visit. Thanks in advance!

Sorry you have everything needed including the baby bonboon? Wiki can give you details Click Here (http://pinataisland.info/viva/Sarsgorilla).

I had some problems with them exploding in my garden for no apparent reason. I started a new garden and on the very first visit was finally able to get one to reside.

also make sure you keep the appear requirements full (I think theirs might just be the bonboon but jic)

Just having what he wants to become a resident will not make him visit. You have to have his actual visit requirements. The most frequently missed of those requirements is the baby Bonboon because he is irritating to keep in the garden for the duration you need him before transforming.

Why dont you get a baby bonboon and crate it and when the gorrila comes uncrate it?

FeralKitty
09-13-2008, 01:29 PM
I've heard that if you have the crate icon over its head, it won't cocoon.

Snakemike

just keep the "visiting requirements" in your garden and it eventually come in normally on the 3rd appearance

IronicTrout
09-13-2008, 03:42 PM
Yeah i finally got it because i figured out that if you crate the baby it will not mature and then when he was staniding at the outside of my garden i just uncrated the baby and he visited and ate everything and became a resident!

If you've gotten a sarsgorilla was it hard to get or does it just take time?

Hello-

I made an entirely new garden totally devoted to snagging a Sarsgorilla. I've got everything laid out for him--the long grass, the monkeynut trees, a baby bonboon in a crate, bananas, and coconut macaroons--yet I've had no luck in nearly 2 hours of playtime. He shows up on the edge of the garden around sunset, dawdles about for a bit, then takes off. It's getting frustrating.

If anyone has encountered this problem or has any advice, I'd appreciate it.

And before anyone offers to send me one, thanks, but it's much more satisfying for me get one on my own.

Thanks a lot

is the baby bonboon actually IN the crate? I think you have to have it unpacked, then go to a crate hit pack and click the bonboon without finishing and leaving the icon over his head. (hope that made sense)
I don't know if that works but I read it somewhere before.

Or use the perma baby cheat (Its in another thread in the TIP section)

AttyFeinstein

The bonboon is actually in the crate. I was afraid he would cocoon if I left him with just the icon over his head, but I will try it. Also, I wasn't sure if the perma-baby trick was just a graphical thing, or they actually counted as a baby. Thanks for the advice, though.

You poke the pinata (with the trickstick) as he's turning into a cocoon try to get him b4 he's fully covered or still small and he'll be small forever.

AttyFeinstein
10-05-2008, 09:48 PM
I'd also like to point out that when he finally did visit--thankfully eating everything he needed to become resident at once--I had not only the baby bonboon with the crate icon above his head, but once perma-baby and one actual baby. So I'm sorry to say I still have no idea which one worked. My advice is to keep mating Bonboons, then hatching the egg with a Cluckles when you see the Sarsgorilla. Twins help also. Good luck!

the baby-forever pinatas are not technically babies but "small adults" :) , so they won't count for the sarsgorilla requirements.
leaving a baby with a crate icon over its head will work though and it won't cocoon up either, as any item with a crate icon is basically "paused" and will not rot, grow up, move or other.

I have never in the whole of this game had such trouble with one pinata. I have literally spent over 5 hours trying to get this guy. I have had all his requirements, bananas by the boat load, umpteen jars of peanut butter and coconut macaroons and at one point, when he visited, had over 4 baby bonboons in the garden and all he did was walk around my whole garden then run away. what am I doing that is wrong? is there some magic trick that I am not getting?

that was a good tip/idea but he still only shows up, walks around and leaves again. I am not sure what to do.

that won't work as he never enters the garden at all. if he did I probably wouldn't to post asking for help.

Make sure that you have enough room though. i did that with a camello, but not enough room. he burst open and left.

all I have is what is required for him to one appear, monkeynut tree, banana tree, and for him to visit, bonboons (only two right now), macaroons, peanut butter. the garden is pretty empty.

It took me freakin' ages to get a sarsgorilla. In the end I just left all the requirements there (including a baby bonboon half packed into a crate) and just got on with the rest of the garden. Eventually the large sack of sweets entered and he was mine! Mwhahahah!

I tried forever to get a sarsgorilla too. I don't know if you're still trying, but I just got my first one yesterday.
I got a lot of good tips from people on here. My mistake, make sure you have 20% long grass, not 2%. You might want to make up a new garden just for getting this pinata. Don't have anything else in there that might attract other pinatas. Go to the board to ban all the pinatas you've master romanced already so they won't come in. If you are having problems with your baby bonboons not staying babies long enough, get a crate from the post office and act like you are going to pack your baby, so it has the package above his head. Then exit out, but it still has the package above him. So he'll stay a baby forever until you destroy the crate. Make sure you have 4 coconut macaroons, 4 jars of peanut butter & 6 bananas, and you should have a sarsgorilla in no time!

Can any one help please? The only pinata I can't get is the Sarsgorilla. I have all the requirments for a visit, I have all the items to make him a resident when he does visit, but all he does is sit on the very edge of my garden then go home!!!!

I did read on here that if you use the wall glitch to stop Pester coming in to your garden then that can stop some pinatas coming in as well. So i started a new garden and have been protecting it by bribing Pester and having a Dragonache as backup. I just can't think what else to try.

If he sits on the edge of the garden, but doesn't enter, it sounds like you might have missed a requirement (http://pinataisland.info/viva/Sarsgorilla). Hover your cursor over him and hit Y to see if everything is checked off.

The tricky requirement tends to be having a baby Bonboon in the garden. (It can't have cocooned, and mini-pinatas don't count since they're adults.) The crate trick (mark it to be packed) is an easy way to keep a baby from cocooning.

Put a crate in the garden & when the Bonboon egg hatches, pack it in the crate, but don't send the crate off. This will keep it a baby & the Gorilla will have all the time he needs to visit your garden. Hope this is helpful
