The new gamestop near me has this game in stock already

I don't know why this game is in stock already... It is a new gamestop.. I called them up asking if they had the strategy guide, and they said "no, but we do have the game in stock."... Which got me curious, so I went in to the store myself and they had it! They said they are selling it at 4PM NY time... I am getting it today as far as I know :D

I am being dead serious... if I am lying may I be struck by lightning.

idk what I should do... I put $5 down for the game in the gamestop across the street from the new one... (the older one is in a mall)... idk if I should put the $5 to waste and get a copy of the game now... or keep the pre-order.

Sry bout this double post but it turns out that they sold a copy by mistake without knowing that they were supposed to keep them till September

Sept 2nd is the Release date, not the street date. the Release date is when the game is mailed out to stores.

It is not possible for a gamestop to have this game, it hasnt been shipped.

If Sept 2nd was a Street date, that means the game will be shipped earlier that week and the 2nd is when you can buy.

Just wait till Wednesday, and stop Amping everyone.

no, street date and release date are the same thing. the game is already on the way to stores, and some may release early if they don't observe or realize the street/release date

and P.S: Games actually come into stores around alot of people around 5:00 PM the same day it is shipped... that is in like all of New York and New Jersey... I am pretty sure it is in Pennsylvania too.

It is, at least where I live (western Pennsylvania until I return to college in western New York tomorrow).

Also, I called around a lot of the stores here to see if they were breaking the street date (:p). A lot of the places told me that they already have the game on hand in the store, but are not selling it yet.

So I work at FYE and we got our viva pinatas in today. I'm not a manager or anything, so I have to rip that stupid green sticker that says "DO NOT SELL UNTIL 9/2/2008" and hopefully convince her to put the games in stock.

At FYE when a product is scanned it shows the release date for games and music... for some strange reason this does not occur with video games, so I can sneak a copy out a lot easier. The employee discount on a 39.99 game doesn't hurt either ;)

Oh and FYE uses Tuesday as the release date for almost all movies, music and video games... been that way for a while it seems.

Yeah, they have to prepare the game on Sept. 2nd. Ya know, stock the shelfs, prepare for the preorders? So you can most likely get it on September 3rd.
