so i've heard about the whole "pinata vision" idea, but im not totally sure i'd buy the vision camera just to use it. i hear a rumor that VP:TIP ships with a vision camera, but that can't be true.
is buying the camera and cards worth it?
(probably not)

The game does not ship with a camera. Some people were confused by a box image that shows "Includes Pinata Vision" in big text, but that only refers to the feature. The box also says "Requires Xbox Live Vision Cam, sold separately".
There is no need to buy a camera... There is nothing in game that requires use of a camera. It is an entirely optional feature that provides an additional method of obtaining pinatas.
The cards are not something that you buy... they are available online for free, and you can even create them yourself.

i am sure that a few cards will be printed and distributed by close circles, (like the E3 2006 XboX360 faceplate), and sold on eBay, lol

Game and Play.com are selling copies of the game with 'exclusive' cards.
Game have 10 with their copy and Play.com have 3 in the UK.

Actually you might need to buy the camera because some of the known achievements require you to scan a certain amount of cards into your game, so if you want all of the achievements you will have to buy the vision camera.

That's true i forgot about that but i personally am buying one for two reasons i personally don't know anyone i can borrow one from and i also think it will be a lot easier than having to keep borrowing it from someone.

i bought one already, to be honest the free uno game i got with it was worth it ( i got it cheap but brand new on ebay) .
also it turns the background on the dashboard into what the camera sees but like a colored ripply version (that probably makes no sense) its pretty cool.

It's also worth looking out for bundles of the camera with 12 months Live subscription. They're usually very good value for money if you are after a camera.

Yeah, that's how I justified it... if start you with a Camera bundle (http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Live-Camera-Bundle/dp/B000GT4MQI/?tag=pinata-20) and you subtract the cost of 12 months of Xbox Live, the included Microsoft Points, 3 arcade games, headset, etc. the camera itself is practically free.

If you are in the UK/EU You can get the same camera bundle for £42 (including shipping) from play-asia.com (yes its imported but I can confirm all of it works, 12month, 200 points, robotron, uno, headset, etc)
I was looking for a 12 month xbl gold card on the cheap and I got an email from GAME advertising VP2, I thought "hey what about pinata vision and the camera" so I went scouting for where to get the camera on the cheap and I remembered play-asia here http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-es-77-4-49-en-15-vision+camera-70-1m97-43-bn.html
I found the camera cheap then with 12month and bonuses and I thought what a great deal considering the same bundle retails for around £70, £40 alone just for the 12month xbl gold.
After a bit of looking I also found this place:
http://play-asia-coupons.com/
Which gives you a coupon for money off stuff from play-asia too and effectively wipes out postage and reduces the cost. It takes about 5 working days to arrive but I highly recommend it if you are serious about it. I can confirm all the codes work I live in the UK myself.
