Sorry if i sound negative but i can't help feeling cheated. The first VP was great but after-purchase support was tad weak. The CoOp patch did not come. The DLC was saddening weak. Worst of all, i can't get my pinata from VP1 to VP2. Not saying that everyone should stop buying VP but i wanna know if VP2 is "future" proof. Nintendo's Pokemon games are pretty compatible even back to the Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. (they broke compat when they switched from GBC to GBA)

The game is standalone, just like most other console sequels. You don't take your existing RPG levels and items to an RPG sequel, or your existing weapons/armor to a FPS sequel.
It was never meant to be backward-compatible with VP1, nor can you compare the 360 with a DS that has a GBA slot.
As for co-op, there clearly is 4-person multiplayer in the TiP, right from the start.
If you want to meet the 32 new species, solve the trouble on the Island, discover new wildcard versions, or play with any other new features of the game, such as the Pinata Vision cards, you'll have to move to TiP. It certainly has enough merit on its own.
Finally, I think that most people would feel that it was a better decision that Rare used their time to develop TiP and Pocket Paradise, instead of DLC or co-op for VP1.

Consider TiP as the VP: Classic "patch" (Why fix what's not broken? Besides those bugs, of course)
TiP is the co-op, the new pinatas, everything you just asked for, so why are you complaining?
It is kind of a bummer that you can't transfer pinatas, but that's what pinata vision is for, right?

So with Pinata Vision can you use it to transfer Pinatas from VP Classic to VP:TIP?

No. Two of the replies already said you can't transfer pinatas.
Besides, VP1 doesn't support Pinata Vision. It's a new feature created for VP: TiP.

Nono, I meant that you can just use Pinata Vision to get the pinatas you had in VP1 again quickly (Example: You already had Cocoadiles in VP1, so just scan a Cocoadile card and there you go. )

The game is standalone, just like most other console sequels. You don't take your existing RPG levels and items to an RPG sequel, or your existing weapons/armor to a FPS sequel. Ok, assume VP1 was "misguided" and the stars did not align for them to work more on it.
Has the tech improved for connectivity between VP2 and whatever new VP there might be?

(I'm not at all sure about this but here's my theory: )
I believe it's because of the new features that would make it impossible to transfer your pinatas from VP:Classic over. With the new tricks they can learn, the way the WC system has changed, and maybe even differences in requirements from one game to the other, it probably isn't possible.
But thinking towards the future, I would think it would be possible to transfer pinatas over, as long as the next game doesn't change too much/still supports pinata vision (Make a card of the pinata, scan it in the next VP game).

ok, if they changed the graphics then you cant transfer the pinatas. Like the new pinatas in TIP might have more paper mache pieces to make the pinata. Then you cant transfer them over
