The 4 Player Co-op is achievement is for Online Co-op... so you only need one controller pad and an Xbox Live connection.

Great- thanks! A lot of them look easy (but not as easy as the first ones) and some of them look kind of hard. But, then again, I haven't played the game yet. So, I don't know what the gameplay is going to be like. I have watched the gameplay footage, but that doesn't give me a first-person view... 3 weeks, though! CAN'T WAIT THAT LONG!! Oye...

Me too! :D i think its good that a game has decided to make good use of the vision cam... i think it will bring alot more fun to the game than the first VP and there looks like theres going to be alot more to do garden wise, so i think we will all be busy planting seeds, growing grass and seeds for alot longer :) Does anyone have any ideas of how the mini games will work? will they be single player mini games that you can play yourself in your garden or online co-op games that you can play with other players over xbox live? Only 19 days to go guys!!! I really cant wait, played both other VP's but i think this ones going to be the best by far!!! :colors:

The idea for Pinata Vision didn't come from the marketing guys at Microsoft, and was not created just to sell cameras. It was created by the lead VP development engineer on his own, in his spare time. I believe part of the idea behind it was to create a way for people without Xbox Live to be able to take part in the trading community... you don't need Xbox Live to scan a card.

Jim's spot on here. That 'lead VP development engineer' he speaks of is me. The tech behind Pinata Vision was just a little challenge I set myself, when it worked we then looked at how we could make real positive use of the tech, until that day, nobody else had ever seen it. The result is Pinata Vision.

But yes, that one looks like a triceratops. That was my favorite dinosaur when I was little. :)
The ones on the top row (plus the lower-right one) intrigue me the most. It's got second generation pinatas, but shadows of first generation. We've got the Parmadillo at the bottom for example but that's a Fudgehog silhouette behind it...

It could be something like if you get both a Fizzlybear and a Pololybear in your garden then you unlock the one in the upper left.

Those Shadows could be evolutions, like the Fizzlybear to the Pollybear, Fudgehog to Armadillo, Cluckles to...that swan thing, doenut to Moojoo and the rashberry (it is rashberry, right?) to the Hoghurt. And that Jackalope could be another version of the WC Bunnycomb. ^^;

It looks like a pololybear is evolved from a fizzlybear, a moojoo is evolved from a doenut, a chockstich? is evolved from a cluckles, a hogurt is evolved from a pigxie/rashberry, a parmadilo is evolved from a fudgehog. The jackolope thing could probably be a WC and that looks like a triceritops. I dont know what the two newtgats could be. I think the bottom machine could be part of Pesters scheme because the bottom one has the black sour marks and when you stop it you get the achievement. I also now think that the triceritops could be a part of an achievement because there is also the chocodoculus dinosaur. Maybe a third dinosaur is in the game to because most of the "get 3 of the BLANK pinatas to your garden" achievements have three of the pinatas heads on the symbol so maybe it could be a "get all of the dinosaur pinatas achievements" so the symbol could have the triceritops, chocodoculus, and MAYBE a third dinosaur head on it. The barkbark stick thing could be "train a pinata both tricks they could learn" achievement because the stick is the trick stick

Ok honestly, about 80% of people who own an xbox 360 dont use a vision camera. I think that RARE should have come up with a better idea so that more people can use the cards.Really? How? And why? The cards are for the camera and nothing else, it's like trading crates with others is for Live and nothing else, and whilst I appreciate that not everyone has the camera we have decided to do something for those who have.
People without cameras really shouldn't fret, they won't miss out on any content as they can play through the entire game - from level 1 to level max - without ever worrying about the camera. What we have done is provide another possibility, just like Live, just like trading, just like single-box co-op, just like System Link, just like Just For Fun, just like the mini-games, just like the website, just like the photo uploads, for those who have access to the items needed to play it.
I can understand some people must be thinking that we're trying to push peripherals but from our point of view we are given access to various cool bits of tech and we've just gone ahead and made use of them. At one point I was even trying to get the Guitar Hero guitars, steering wheels and other lumps of plastic working with VP, but it wouldn't have meant you had to use them ;)
This feature is definitely a labour of love, our lead engineer (who some might know by screenname) decided to dabble with this idea in his own time and ended up demonstrating it and getting the reaction "wow, that's cool" and it went from there.
We know that not everyone is going to be able to use it but what you may find is that you can still generate cards by using the ingame screenshot tool and upload them to the website. You can basically create your own deck, trade them how you wish and make your pinatas famous throughout the whole community. Just make sure they're doing Blue Steel when you take the shot.

Have a little respect for the amount of effort that has gone into this. Its easy for you to just dismiss the idea and say they should have done something better but in truth its pretty ingenius and a nice feature.
Imagine if you were the one to spend months programming, integrating the feature only to receive that kind of comment. Please.
I wasn't too fond of the idea of having camera based achievements, but having truly thought about it, aren't achievements there to make you fully explore the game? To do things out of the ordinary?
I have over 50K GS, I do not own a camera. The reality is that RARE do not have to pander to our achievement wish's.

The only other way is to make a really long annoying 35 digit code for people to share over forums n such but that would suck. I really like the concept of the camera using cards and i cant wait to use it.
just buy a cheap camera on ebay get the achievements then sell it on. simple.

The Chocodoculus picture is a triceratops because: you make it using several items. transforming a certain colour bone will give you different attributes. the attributes relate to one of three different dinosaurs (stegosaurus, triceratops, brontosaurus), depending on bone colour
VPplaya
08-29-2008, 08:54 PM
Oh, so you can have a triceritops, brontosaurus, or stegosaurus!?!
sleepyowl
08-29-2008, 10:07 PM
Essentially.
You have to use three different coloured bones to create him (red, blue, green). The first bone tinkered is for the head: red is the triceratops, blue is the stegosaurus, green is the brontosaurus. The next bone is for the "rib cage" (tail): red gives you a long tail, blue gives you a spiky tail, green gives you a stubby tail. The last bone is the "spine": red gives horns to him, blue makes it blue, green makes it green. So you have a lot of say in his appearance.
And hey you guys, my info is coming directly from the guide. So, I'm no expert source, I'm just efficient with transcribing it.
VPplaya
08-30-2008, 07:42 AM

Red you can buy from costolot. Blue and Green come from elsewhere (mine I think)
