At today's E3 press briefing Microsoft announced a "New Xbox Live Experience" (new dashboard) with Avatars.
Some new features include:
Play from hard drive
Access Xbox LIVE Marketplace on the Web
Dashboard built into the new Xbox Guide
LIVE Party system
Xbox LIVE Primetime
New display support

Though i wouldn't mind the new experience
Yeah, we've been looking at the same dashboard for years so this will be something new. If MS thinks it will bring more casual customers to the console, then nothing wrong with that.

It bugs me a little. They're too reminiscent of Miis, but they do look slightly more interactive.

3 words "8 Way Chat!" enoght said also the Avatars are made by Rare! :p and the new 1 Vs 100 looks cool free game anyone? and the Uno Rush loved playing the 1st 1 with my friends and messing about for hours on end with the vison cams :) Oh and the new guide looks really cool and i think the new Dashbored set up looks easyer to use

It like the idea, but they could have done something different to make it different from the Wii's Mii system.

Wiis Miss, iTunes cover flow (but in a much greyer boring form).
just aload of old ideas, i think they could have upgraded the blade system to make more of it. i no they said it was limiting, but it was unique.
